Unified 140-pound titleholder Amir Khan will be a guest this evening on LOPEZ TONIGHT, the award winning late night talk show hosted by George Lopez. Broadcast on TBS, the show will air Monday tonight at 12:00 a.m. EST, 11:00 p.m. CST.
On Saturday night, July 23rd, Khan dominated former world champion Zab Judah en route to a sensational fifth round stoppage at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
This will be Khan’s first late night talk show appearance in the United States and takes place just hours before he departs for his hometown of Bolton, England.
You think people other than us give a rat's ass about boxing?
I don't delude myself on that.
Boxing is bigger than soccer/futbol is in the US, you don't have to be deluded to realize this. When does anyone even care about soccer when it's not the World Cup or Olympics?
The interview was okay, Khan was good. I like George Lopez as a comedian but I think he's pretty awful as a talk show host.
David Beckham couldn't become a star here because nobody gives a rats ass about soccer in America. I thnk Khan has a pretty good chance to blow up over here, that's if he stays on a roll vs. big name American fighters.
After the Judah fight he was front page, top story on ESPN.com. Sure it was probably because it was a slow sports day but oftentimes not even May or Pac can make it to the top story slot after a megafight.

Sucks that this show comes on when most of the East Coast is asleep. Regardless, it's good to see a boxer not named Floyd or PAC getting some recognition in the US media.
DAVID BECKHAM couldn't become a star in the U.S. ...think about that.

If he bounces back to England every time, it won't happen.

Khan fights 3 times a year: Twice in Las Vegas and Once in the UK.
He fights on HBO/SKY/PRIMETIME and his fights are also shown all over the middle east and Asia. He can become not just a star in the US but a global star. He just needs promotors who know what they are doing with him.
You gotta give Khan props. He's really putting in work. He could very well be the next star in boxing.

Looks like Oscar got Khan onto the show!
