Most Boxing Fans are impatient, not knowing what it takes to season a fighter. This kid is mastering the basics. Say what you want but Deontay is coming along perfect. Thier bringing him along smoothly. The way you should bring a young talented Heavyweight. He has everything, speed, agilty, power, confidense, footwork. All hes missing is a boxing IQ, Which HES IN THE PROCESS OF LEARNING AND MASTERING NOW. Hes leaarning on the job since he had really no ameture experince. Id' say another three years and hes gonna burst on the seen destroying everthing. He's a giant that moves like a slick welterweight, something we have not seen since Ali, in the heavyweight divison. I predict that in three years or less Wilder will control the heavyweight divison, unifying all the belts at least once. Hes the beginning of a new era.
You don't even have to go outside the heavyweight division to make this point. Wlad did the same thing for his 1st 30 or so fights, even got KO'd by one of those bums who he was supposed to just steamroll right over in the process of his development. But for an Olympic medalist, he should be way further along than he is now IMO. The guy has yet to fight an opponent who was ranked in the top 250 at Heavyweight 3 years deep into his career. Hopefully he steps up within the next few fights so we can make a proper assessment. As far as raw athletic ability, for his size especially, he looks promising. Need to see him against a live opponent though before i make a judgement on his future potential
honest response, I agree with we need to see more to make a better assement. I also think he needs more polishing before he moves up, hes not calm , or patient enough. He throws all of his punches with bad intensions. He needs to calm down some, this comes with time and age. After he settles down some, he'll see more openings, and his timing will improve. Plus once he gains another 15 pounds of muscle. hes gonna be a devastaing puncher.

You maybe right(except for the hypejob part cuz' there is no hype around him). But, I do believe that if Wilder was the same fighter however with different skin color and born somewhere in Eastern Europe. Your opinion of him would have been much different.
Last time I checked Mike Perez is black and born in Cuba and I have a high opinion of him. Nice try pulling the race card though :peeright:
Deontay Wilder is feckin awful. I watched the guy on someones recommendation as the 'next great HW' and after about 10 minutes it was clear this guy has limited technique and ability and the guys he fought were literally guys off the street.
I swear one was worse out of shape than Arreola at his heaviest
Deontay is pants, he has KO power, but thats about it
LOL, YOUR FUNNY but I respect your opinion, although I find it funny you say Wilder has limited technique and ability , yet four out of your top six favorite fighters have limited technique and ability yet they made it to the elite level and won championships with all there flaws.

I like Wilder and hope he starts to step it up a little. He's got the size and athletic ability to be a champ, hopefully he shows he has the other things needed as well.
i agree. in 2 years wilder will be a problem and at that point would have a good chance at beating a then 37 year old wlad or a 42 year old vitali. deontay is a 6'8 giant with good hand speed, good foot speed, good head movement, and good power. you dont see that very often. this is not another valuev
ive been saying for a while now that deontay and seth mitchell are the future of heavyweights ...i can see them 2 having a big heavyweight showdown for a strap years down the line.
Im shocked that theres some people on BS that understands boxing, and can recognize talent. Many cant see or understand and it shows in thier post. They say Wilder fights bums, lets look at Pacquiaos first 48 oponants, all bums, and he was knocked out by two of them, yet they claim hes the P4P man now,lol go figure, lol
No amateur experience? He was a national golden gloves champion & an olympic bronze medalist hence his ringname ''The bronze bomber''
The guy has had 17 fights & fought nobody, he needs to ideally pack on 20lbs of muscle because he is like a stick & if done correctly it may help his weak-ass chin.
I like his power, when he uses it his jab is decent though he often uses it as a range-finder or neglects it completely.
Tbh I do think he is a good prospect/an exciting fighter but IMO he has a hell of a lot to improve and I don't particularly see much improvement at all going all the way back to when he was an amateur.
Again this is just my opinion and he's still young and has time to learn but I don't see the guy having anything really other than a very decent straight right.
Somewhere down the line, maybe in a few fights time I'd like to see him fight that clown David Rodriguez.
Just looking at his natural gifts, lets see, he has height- 6ft 8in, he has reach 87in wing span, he has speed, he has foot work movement like a NBA basketball player, hE HAS A HARD WHIPPING jAB, A Killer one punch ko power right hand. These are facts about him. How many current heavyweights can you say have all of these attributes. I heard somone say he needs Manny stewart, I think manny would **** up his style. Manny would try to make him fight like a robot, Mark breland has him fighting more fluent, like a welterweight with height, using the jab and giving angles, punching in cobinations. Once this kids at 90% he will litterally be head and shoulders above any current ranked heavyweight
Wilder needs another solid year but if he keeps progressing I don't see why he can't be every bit Tyson Fury's equal. Fury was godawful 2 years ago and has grown into a decent fighter. He should already have a loss on his record if not for the robbery in his favor against John "Tits" McDermott.
Wilder has a lot more natural athleticism and power, it will come down to whether or not he can take a shot.
He's also still growing into his frame. He will easily pack on another 15-20 lbs of muscle in the next 5 years as he grows into a full fledged Heavyweight.
This guy understands the growth process, maturing a fighter. With Wilders speed, and power, agilty the skys the limit. About his abilty to take a punch, lewis had a glass jaw, roy had a glass jaw, tito trinadad had a glass jaw, look how they turned out.

I agree he's neither the future or a hypejob. He's got a good physique going for him and seems to be a change from the norm of overweight/unfit Heavyweights, he's got good speed too.
But these guys he is facing are complete bums, as Teddy said in the last video he needs to step up the competition otherwise we won't see any development.
With the right trainer and better competition he could be a decent fighter imo.
Too early to call him "the future" and he isn't a "hype job" because they have done little to push or promote him. Even Americans have rarely seen him!
He's a hypejob who'll be promply KOed when he steps up his competition.

Lets see Fury vs Wilder or Chisora vs Wilder.

This topic creator is a clown, he is only on Wilders balls because he is a black american heavyweight knocking out bums. Aleast Lacy was beating up decent opposition before people hyped him up.
