A 1,2, 1,2 punch combination fighter with some lateral movement. He cant counter punch to save his life and he doesn't have head movement and the only fighter that he's fought that was as big as he is knocked him out. If u see something special about him please point it out coz I don't c it.
I would honestly pick Maidana to smash Khan's face in a rematch, maybe even Lucas Matty (just bad style match ups for Khan, but he does have the skills and heart to pull off the victory). Bradley is a 50-50 fight IMO
At 147, it's hard to say how he looks and a little unfair. But I would definitely go with Ortiz, Pacquiao, and Floyd to beat him, maybe even Berto at this point.
As pathetic as Judah's performance was, Judah and McCloskey did make Khan miss a lot. And Malignaggi of all people, bruised up Khan. I bring this up because these guys are good to average fighters, Prescott is also an average fighter. Maidana is a good fighter too, and that fight was close even with the point deduction. But Khan did dominate Malignaggi and Khan offensively.
I would say Khan is a very good fighter, he can beat the good-average fighters out there pretty easily with his offense. He has really fast hands and good power. I think he's being a bit underrated in this thread, but if he can dominate guys like Maidana, Bradley, Peterson, then I think he should get the credit he deserves. As of now the guys he has dominated don't really shout "great" fighter, but we'll see who he fights at the end of this year. A fight with Morales would really get him bashed, just like Maidana was bashed.
He mixes in some jabs in there, and he hooks off the jab extremely well. In fact I think a lot of those 1's you guys are talking about are really 3's. He just throws the punch really fast.
i dont think so. to me, ortiz is the worst matchup stylistically for khan. hes just as good of a boxer, hes proly stronger, not as fast, but bigger and he hits harder. i would love to see that fight but i doubt it happens until after a potential floyd showdown.
Nowhere near. All he does is lunging punches - he doesn't use a jab or head movement to get within range - and he loves dropping his guard when he's in front of you throwing wildly.
You'll see when he loses every minute of every round against Floyd.
Same old crap.
I thought he would be found out against a power puncher with speed like Judah?
What happened to that theory?
before it was a pressure fighter woth power in Maidana ?
Now its a guy his height, with pressure and power and speed thats counters ?
There are no guys out there like that.
Khan smokes Ortiz easily.

that is true, but its not really warranted. its more to do with his hype and the exciting style he fights in. there are plenty of dangerous fights out there for him, if u think bradley is an easy win for him then ull be really disappointed.
I don't think Bradley is an easy fight, nor is Ortiz. That said, I think pre-fight, Khan is the favorite.

thats fair, but Khan has fantastic handspeed and solid pop. Even if he is not a complete fighter, his physical attributes make up for it. Just look what he did to Zab.
Can Bradley beat him? Outside of May and Pac Amir is favorite against anyone from 140-147.

Not really. who in the WW division actually has the style that applies a lot of pressure? Maidana laid the blueprint, Khan can be beat if you get close to him and smother him but that's easier said than done because you would have to have that style and be tough as nails to withstand Khan's punches when you come in.
ortiz is a great pressure boxer when he wants to be. berto isnt exactly a pressure fighter, but hes more than capable with his speed and power of getting on the inside to bust opponents up. mike jones isnt gonna be deterred by khans 1,2s and khans accuracy issues would get him a serious beating in the ring with floyd.
Brandon Rios could break Amir down and knock him out. Rios is pressure fighter with hell of a chin and ko power and has much better skills than Maidana.

stop getting your panties bunched up.
for a guy like him, that works when ur bigger than every guy u fight. but when he comes up to ww, different story. he wont be able to use those punches to keep ppl off him, hed get bullied by some of the names out there.

fair enough. Also I'm not the type to say his defense sucks either. I think he's good at not being hit, but he can learn to parry punches better.
He seems to try and use his legs and footwork as his defense, for the most part. Not necessarily anything wrong with that, unless someone's able to step with you and catch you on the way out, which is exactly what Maidana, Prescott and Michael Gomez all did. Otherwise he doesn't move his head a lot, which he should definitely improve.
Amir's punch resistance seems to have gotten better for whatever reason though, because Maidana cracked him with some nasty ones and never did he go down.
I'd actually still like to see him in with Bradley, even if that fight would produce a ton of headbutts. Amir leans in with his head when he reaches to land and Timmy uses his as a type of sweaty mace. Could get ugly, but that's THE fight to make at 140 for all the marbles.
His defense is his offense you see how judah couldn't get off because Khan always beat him to the punch. And remember Judah is known for his timing with that left hand but yet he couldn't hit Khan with it. If it ain't broken dont fix it.

You guys are being too harsh, he doesn't have the worst D, he at least is keeping his hands up and the fact that he is being so offensive keeps most of his opponents on the defensive. Khan also throws much more than 1s and 2s, I enjoy watching him, he is TV friendly, and the possibility that he could get caught on his not so iron chin makes his fights suspenseful.
have too admit he is afighter to watch.
As long as he's beating everyone who cares? it's not like he is maragrito who blocks punches with his face. I mean the two biggest punchers at 140 couldn't take him out. His defense is his offense I wouldn't want him to start being defensive because it would take away his strengths.
