Keep your hands up to keep that jab more busy, I think you had a alot of chances to fake a jab, when he comes in with that big hook, counter with ur right, you did it when you stunned him in the 3rd. But could of worked all night.
Also in the first round when using you straight right u jumped in too far, could of clocked in without eating that hook.
Just throw more punches. Ametuers is all about points and you dont have alot of time so its important that you let your hands go. When you train you should focus in throwing combinations.
lemme embed it for you i'm watching
All I will say is keep your hands up there were more than a dozen opportunities you could have been clocked real good but the guy didnt take advantage of it. Never stand in front of an opponent with your hands down your not RJJ and too soon in your amateur career to be cocky regardless if the other guy isnt that good. Overall not bad for your first time
Good performance. You have that bounce to set your feet which is great cause that can lead to angles shots coming in. Pop that jab...to him. Set up your combos ad big shots. Like your patience...keep it up and take your time, your openings will come. Little more head and waste movement. Other than that f**ken awesome. Keep up the great work.:boxing:
You did a good job, your footwork was pretty good, but there's a lot to improve. For your first fight I think it was pretty good, just some general recommendations:
*Keep your hands up all the time, you were caught a few times because you lowered your hands.
*Try to be a little more aggressive with the jab, you were taller so you could try to use the jab a little bit more
*Don't be afraid to engage if you think you are better than him, in amateur boxing it's very important to show that you are the best in the ring.
*Try to move in and out, I saw that sometimes you defend by taking a step backwards and that's ok, but you could try to surprise your opponent by taking a step backward and then a quick step forward with a 1-2 combination.
But yeah, good fight, I know it's hard to get in the ring and fight but you did a good job.
