Why dont gyms teach boxing with your hands down and loading up on hooks throwing punches from your waist?
Works for the best boxer today, Sergio

Boxing gyms should try different things instead of teaching boring a$$ gloves up and not dropping your hands after your throw a punch and keepin your elbows in. There should be a gym for a fighter who want to be exciting and be the best because it clearly is working for the best...
Are you drunk?
I certainly hope so.
Why, because you hope that what I'm saying is a fabrication? Martinez earned his status the hard way, not by having belts stripped away from other guys and given to chumps so that a fabricated tough guy like puto jr there in your sig can win a title.
Martinez had no amateur career and is the legit MW champ of the world...Chavez has as many fights under his belt as Martinez and his opponents of note was Duddy and Zibik (who was tagging puto jr at will).
You know dag on well that your boy is gonna run back to the hills of Mexico when Martinez comes to collect on Sulaiman's promise of a puto jr fight in early 2012. When that happens, you may be the one needing a drink....:boxing:
Nah, more like start fighting in your early 20's with no experience at all and basically win every fight but one against opposition that all have more practice at the sport than you do, get your opportunity against some good comp and destroy them, move up in comp and destroy them too, and now be considered on eof the very best in the game because you make top tier guys look like rubbish in comparison.
All while doing it in an unorthodox and self-taught manner that leaves opponents dumbfouded as to how to prevent you from taxing that ass®

martinez style is sht, doesn't even have that much athleticism
the guy has beat no one and i would knock him the fukk out if i ever saw in person
LMAO....dude, Martinez would fukk you up with a quickness and then offer to buy you some boxing lessons at his gym.....all before he goes out for lunch with your woman out of spite.
It's called a "Philly Shell", it's a variation of what Roy Jones and Martinez does. It's basically one hand down and the other protecting both sides of the chin. I understand it's somewhat different but the reason I brought it up is because a lot of young fighters want to fight "like Mayweather" and don't understand it takes years of adjusting to that style and having the natural gifts to do it.
Lmao, no one calls it the philly shell other than the video game, goto a REAL boxing gym and call it that and you'll get your a$$ laughed at out of the gym
Gyms don't teach the style because of this. Most people don't know s*** about boxing.
You know just a few months before that happened Pacman got KTFO by Medgoen Singsurat?
Because fighting like Roy Jones is a fast way to get beat the fuck up, most people learn boxing to not get beat the fuck up.
Sergio is a bit different but still it took him a long time to make it work so why would boxing gyms teach a method like that~
he probably could.
doesn't change the fact what i hinted is true.
floyd mayweather's resume gets criticized. manny pacquiao's resume gets criticized. a lot of good fighter's right now gets their resume **** on.
sergio martinez does nothing for 13 years beats paul williams and kelly pavlik and all of a sudden people think he's the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Same thing with Pac. He didnt really make any noise until he caught Barrera on the slide. 20 fights later, hes still fighting guys on the slide :owned2:
what's maravilla boxing?
do nothing in your career for 12-13 years then win a couple of fights against slightly above average fighters and have everyone overrate you?

You can only pull that off if you're an exceptional fighter. Even if you're not an exceptional fighter, you'll only probably get away with that while sparring or fighting REALLY bad boxers.
If you try that against an experienced professional with decent timing or a Gold Medallist, you're going to get knocked the hell out.
Why doesnt more boxing gyms teach fighters to punch hard like Mike Tyson....because you can't teach what you don't have. Try fighting like Jones without the elite speed and reflexes and see where that will leave you.
Did someone say Mayweather? I don't see him dropping his hands like Naz, RJJ or Martinez.

you need to be an exceptional athlete to be able to do that.
Very explosive, very fast and have great timing.
yep. occasionally, you get a fighter with those natural gifts, who also happens to have lifetimes of boxing knowledge at his disposal within his family, and look what you get, based on skill, one of the top 5 boxers of all time.
look at the monster pac became after he and freddie honed his god given ability.
Why doesnt every boxer try to copy the most athletic fighter to lace up a pair of gloves? Because Roy Jones had superhuman speed and athleticism and you cant teach that.
