Rios places his punches better than Maidana and brings superior conditioning into the ring. That's obvious. But seeing Rios against Acosta - a very much underrated boxer and strong puncher in his own right - I could see Rios pulling the upset on Khan.
I think rios is a more polishe version of maidana...
I could see him winning a close decision with a slow start...
or a late tko...
sorry khan fans but i think he is overrated.
I see khan winning by a UD or a late stoppage. The thing is Rios doesn't have the footspeed maidana has therefore, I think rios will be punching air most of the time. I am not sure how Rios would be able to take a punch from a huge lww in khan because he was rocked by antillon a few times. Rios defense isn't the best either even though he has a high guard stance, punches still get through very easily. I don't see Rios troubling khan either with his shots because I doubt he punches anywhere near the power that maidana does.

Yeah...Rios doesn't have the power of Maidana but he has more skills. He's better at cutting off the ring, infighting, picking his shots.
There is the size thing, with Khan being a big 140 lb fighter looking to move to 147, and Rios the same scenario at 135 going to 140, but I still think it's a bad matchup for Khan. Khan's poor footwork and in-fighting would come back to bite him in the ass here.
