I have read countless threads of opinions stating that Mayweather will be crushed by Ortiz. I understand Mayweather is in for a fight, but I believe after a few rounds Mayweather will begin to pick Ortiz apart. But for the record, I would like to read your opinion on how the fight will go. Who do you pick to win, why and how?

I think Mayweather will win but I'm not gonna sleep on him.
We saw how focused he was before the Berto fight as opposed in his previous fights and it really showed in the ring. He has really good power in both hands and I think he will be able to hit Mayweather at times.
Not to mention he was massive in his 147 debut, how that kid ever made 140 I will never know.
I think Floyd beats him bad.
Ortiz doesn't have a jab, his footwork is average and he is hittable. Ortiz only has success imo when his opponents are on the ropes.
Mayweather won't be on the ropes to hit. He will be using his lateral movement to keep himself off the ropes and he will pop Ortiz from range with lead right hands, quick jabs to the body and head and all the other punches Mayweather wants to dish out.
I see Mayweather possibly stopping Ortiz late, or winning a clear decision.

I see Floyd putting pressure on Ortiz(which I believe is a weakness of Ortiz)and make him fight off the backfoot..Ortiz can not get out the way of a right hand,Mayweather beats Ortiz up bad and stops him late..
I can fully understand people thinking Floyd will win, but Im so sick of hearing how Floyd might stop somebody. Hes not stopping anyone unless he manages to knock them into the ring post. Great fighter, but hes not interested in trying to knock people out.
Well, first of all who gives a **** what the idiots have to say, and second of all my memory serves me differently than yours. Not sure your age, but I was 21 at the time and in the prime of interest in boxing. Norris was a relatively unknown underdog, and most people (myself included) thought Ray would win the fight over his vastly inexperienced opponent, an opponent who was also thought to be a little chinny. Ray never looked that bad in the past and there was no reason to believe he would suddenly get old and unable to defend himself overnight, as was the case in this fight. Only 4 years prior he defeated Marvin Hagler. Sure there were some signs he was in decline, just as there are some signs May is in decline. I think May's decline will show itself against Ortiz, a young hungry tiger. Mayweather is pushing his luck and eventually it's gonna catch up to him, as it does to almost every fighter. I think Ortiz will be in the right place at the right time when it happens just as Norris was against Leonard.
I wasn't 21 but 20. I would argue Ray really didn't beat Hagler (Hagler is my favorite fighter ever so I'm only slightly biased. 118-112 was fukkin robbery). Ray had a longer period of inactivity and had a major eye injury. Plus he was a ccokehead and a drunk. Floyd doesn't drink or use drugs.
Those in the "know" about Ray figured he was gonna get beat because of his out of ring lifestyle caused problems for him.
I find it funny that only one of you have the balls to say what you feel. Alot of you really feel the danger for Mayweather in this fight, and think that he will be ko'ed but don't have the BALLS to say it because, lets face it, we're talking about Mayweather here. You don't want to be embarressed come fight night. This guy is so good that when it comes down to the fight, no one wants to bet against him, and he's been this way his entire career. If thats not an all time great then what is. Stop being fags and speak against him, stop playing it safe by staying neutral, or pretending like you really feel he's gonna win. With all the **** going on in his life,2 year lay off, and facing a menacing, hard hitting ,big, strong, fast and young welterweight, with a solid ameture background, who's smart and versatile in the ring. You know you think Mayweathers ass is grass, your just a coward and wont say it for the record. If Mayweather was to be ko'ed all of you will be on here ASAP saying you knew it all along, that Mayweather couldn't beat a fighter like Ortiz. I'll be seeing bandwagon post , like "War Ortiz" , Ortiz all time great, etc etc. lol
WTF is this dumbass talking about?
No. If Victor wins it doesn't mean the Norris/SRL analogy is correct. Norris wasn't as huge an underdog if memory serves me correct. I think Vic is a live underdog. But if I say that then all the haters say well you're a floyd fan and you are just making him out to be better than he is.

Terry Norris is significantly better than Ortiz and floyd is not as far removed from his prme as SRL was.

Ortiz will be to a declining Mayweather what Terry Norris was to Ray Leonard.
A "handpicked", safe opponent who is young and good, but not seen as too threatening.
Mayweather will get old before our eyes and Ortiz will kick his ass.
Ortiz W12 Mayweather.

Ortiz is going to start really strong and might even have his dominant lapses early in the first three rounds. Mayweather begins to pick his shots and makes Ortiz think, dropping his output. Floyd continues to win rounds and then begins a dull fight from round 9-12 when Ortiz has been outclassed. UD Mayweather. Pretty much like every other fight he's had.

For some reason I can see PBF losing this fight and not because Ortiz is a better fighter than he is. I just see it as being "timing" IMO for the past few years PBF has been playing with boxing and that is something he himself has said you can't do. PBF is my favorite fighter right now and I know he trains like no other but sometimes after continous breaks no matter how much you try you just don't have it and can't get it back. I wouldn't bet against PBF but for some reason I don't like this fight.
I think Ortiz has a slim chance. He just too inconsistent and a mentally weak fighter. I think saying he has a puncher chance is a bit of an exaggeration.
Only way Ortiz wins this, is if Floyd got old over night mixed with the inactivity finally catching up with him. Ortiz needs both of this things to be able to pull this victory.
But, I don't see that happening. Hell I wouldn't be surprise if Floyd breaks him down not only mentally but also physically stops his ass.
This...............
i was gonna say im gonna make a bold prediction and say Floyd gets a rare stoppage win but i see quite a few here also think that.
I think its gonna be a damn good fight tbh, I think Ortiz will bring the best out of Floyd and wont let him cruise to a boring decision, he'll make Floyd throw more punches to keep Ortiz of him.
Ortiz might cry after this fight.
I concur with this.
Call me crazy but i think floyd has a good chance at being dropped. Ortiz has dropped every opponent he has faced.
I hope he does hurt floyd tho. It will embarrass him and make him more aggressive.
Ortiz has a really good chance, bout 40%.Ortiz is riding a high so big,it will show on fight night.Floyd's been inactive for too long. He's had what,2 fights in for years??Ortiz has been active, hit a road block, slumped, but returned with a vengeance.
Floyd's inactivity will play heavily on this fight.Floyd has most of the advantages except for power & youth,he hasn't fought a fighter like this in years.Floyd is not walking through Ortiz. If Ortiz looses,it'll be close, like 7-5,u'll see.
