Sept 10th in Belfast for WBA light-welterweight title eliminator.
Carl Frampton chief support fight against TBA
Ill be going to this. If Frampton fights Kiko Martinez it'll be a crackin fight
Pumped up for this, I want Prescott to win plainly because I want a rematch with Khan and not having McCloskey having to fight Khan again.
War Prescott !!!!!!!

the winner will be fighting Maidana Guerrero winner anyway not Khan as they will be the regular WBA champ (Khan Judah winner will be "super" champ). The WBA is a joke
I doubt he will get a decision in belfast if its remotely close, only way he gets a decision is if he puts mccloskey on his back 2/3 times in the fight.
Belfast isnt bad for decisions imo, Lindsay lost the British FW title to Simpson (who has been robbed mroe times than Glen Johsnon). He clearly lost, but it was competitive, and the score cards were about right. Lindsay was beign hyped up a bit at the time over here as someone who might be able to move onto world level.
I dont think Paul will need a home town decision anyway, i reckon he beats Prescott fairlly easily. (although Ive only seen 1 of his 3 fights since Mitchell so I might change my opinion once i watch the other 2)

This is a good fight :fing02: but how long does it give each fighter to train? 6-7 weeks?
McCloskey has known he'd be getting an eliminator on that date for about a month or so (Frampton has also been given that date a while back as well).
Not sure when Prescott found out about it but he'd have known within the last week which gives him about 7-8 weeks to train which is plenty of time
Yeah that's how I feel about it, my heart says Carl to win (and a great win it would be) but my head says he'll get KO'ed.
I was thinking they were just using Kiko's name to get a bit of extra press but Barry McGuigan seems to think Carl is better than he is so he may well put him in with him. We'll find out soon enough
I dont think Carl is ready for Kiko, they have been going back and forth in negotiations for a while now. I'd like to see it as it would be a damn good fight, but Kiko is a beast and Carl hasnt fought anyone close to his level yet.

I heard Kiko has been calling Frampton out, if that fight get's made it's going to be a big step up for Carl I hope he can rise to the challenge, I remember what Martinez did to Bernard Dunne, he has some power in his shots.
