Great match up between JCC and Meldrick Taylor, Taylor was out boxing Chavez and was ahead on the cards but JCC got the TKO with 2 seconds to go.
And Taylor lost his career in that fight.
Mayweather know win lose or draw against Pacquiao it will be the toughest fight of his life and the beating he will take in the ring, will change him forever.
Money means a lot to Floyd but his health means more, and taking a fight with Pacquiao could serriously damage his health.
Floyd probably saw the Taylor vs Chavez fight as a kid and made sure the same won't happen to him.
Hence his safety first style and not taking the dangerous fights.
Floyd has mentioned his health and how boxing a dangerous sport when the Pacquiao fight is mentioned. Does Chavez vs Taylor fight make Floyd weary of fighting Pacquiao?
Meldrick Taylor's left cheek to fist defence obliterates Floyds shoulder role any day of the week.
anyways.........

i'm not sure if it this is a serious post or not but
just incase it is
No, it isn't Mexican boxing 101 is Heart....
it's the difference between a knock down and a knock out ,a loss or a win in a close fight.
Heart is VERY relevant in boxing ..
Not at serious, but the sake of the thread starter's thread and morale, I was dead serious. :theyareon
Craziest thing about this fight is this is one of those fights where you see it differently the second time you watch it.
First time I watched it live, I remember seeing Chavez losing and thinking his undefeated record was history. How he was getting dominated by Taylor.
When I watched it again, I noticed the beating Taylor was taking. Some of those shots were BRUTAL. Shots most men don't stay up taking. The body work and counter right hand by Chavez was landing at will after round 9.
Meldrick Taylor lost his career in that fight.
you think Floyd's some soft punk? Its just as likely that he could put a hurting on Pac and stop him.
Taylor was not soft, nor is Floyd, but he will get hit harder and more often than any of his previous fights.
Pacquiao has dealt with bigger punchers and more agressive fighters than Floyd.
Floyd does have pride and doesn't like to lose and that could cost him his health.
Fair play to Floyd he will get out of boxing with his faculties intact not having taken the tough fights and made loads of money.
Why be a hero like Taylor and other great fighters when you will end up broke and with health issue in your retirement.

Whats the point of this thread? Mayweather isn't a a Philly fighter, that was Taylor's downfall, just too aggressive for his own good.
As to whether Mayweather fears what happened to Taylor, i think every fighter entering the ring worries about that in the back of their minds. But Floyd knows his ring generalship and defensive mastery wont allow that to happen.
...so again, the point of this is what?
^^^^ What he said
Heart is useless in boxing, just know that Meldrick Taylor's defense crushes Floyd's any day of the week. Great thread.

Floyd has talked a few times that he want to leave boxing with his faculties intact.
A fight with Pacquiao could well damage Floyd and Floyd knows this.
I think Chavez only landed half as many punches as Taylor did in that fight, but look at the state of the two men at the end of the fight and their careers after it.
Why should Floyd risk his health and well being to face Pacquiao?

Who do you think had more heart?
And how does that relate/support your farce of an observation? If anything Meldrick's heart contributed to his punishment, so don't know what you're getting at. Maybe its time to change your thread title since its failed so miserably.
Watch a green Mayweather bang it out in the early days when he actually needed to, he has plenty heart enough for this sport. Now days he's actually improved vastly mainly on his defensive abilities so he's rarely tested.
He sure is.Because Floyd can't counter as good as Marquez, hits softer than him too & he can't avoid punches as good as Mosley did against Pacman.Further more Taylor was soooo much slicker than Floyd's & Pacman's body attack makes Chavez's look like an amateur.
I agree. :fing02:

Mayweather 41-0
Are you saying Chavez Jr is better than Floyd? If so, excuse me while I go eat my KFC for breakfast in honor of your brilliance.
According to Floyd theory....so yes Chavez is better.
