Marquez is gonna give Manny hell

You can say that again, Margs give Pacman one hell of a fight, but the sad thing is that he ended up in Hospital, with a broken eye socket! Margs was taller and heavier than Pacman but can't solve Pacman' speed and power! On the other hand take a closer look on whom Marquez had fought in his previous and Past fights, they are all legitimate "LIGHTWEIGHTS"! If you think he is ready to fight at 144lbs then, for sure can give Pacman one hell of a fight? But I think he will end up like Margs. Marquez can be hit, been knockdown by his Lightweight opponents. Pacman isn't called "Mexicutioneer" for nothing! Previous opponents like outboxing Pacquiao twice? Don't give me that welterweight bullshit. Pacquiao is exactly the same size. At superfeather, he was blowing up to 145-148. At welterweight, he fights at *drumroll*...145-148. He just has to cut less weight. Size isn't a factor here, people. Age could be, but I have a feeling Marquez is going to summon up every ounce of youth left in him and give us a hell of a fight. If that's not enough, then it's not enough. But you guys are selling Marquez waaaay short here.

Marquez has no power at welterweight, Floyd laughed at his punches and Manny can take big punches from the best welterweights Manny almost stopped Marquez early before, he will do it this time. Marquez is older and slower while Pac has kept his speed and power have only read this far but I already know this is the best post in the thread.

Pacquiao's last 7 opponents wish they were as good as Marquez is at 37. Not saying JMM will win, but it's not going to be a walk in the park for Pacquiao.

Why can't HBO/Showtime make commercials this good? This alone makes me wanna order the PPV.

Honestly I think Pac stops Marquez this time around. Pac has been able to move up and retain most of his speed. When Marquez move up for Floyd he was soft and stuck in mud. Granted Mayweather probably would have made him look bad anyway, but speed kills. Marquez doesn't have the same speed or timing he did fighting Pac at 130. I agree 100 percent. I don't see this fight as competitive or close. The weight isn't even the main issue with me, Marquez was on the slide before the last Pac fight (was still an excellent fighter though) hes been on a sharp decline since that fight.

Lol at comparing the Cotto of today to the Marquez of today. Marquez has been in 3 or 4 times as many wars as Cotto and is nearly 10 years younger and he's still a better fighter than Cotto. Not only will Marquez shock the world, he'll show all you sheep that skill pay the bills, no matter how old you are. MAGIC PISS FTW!

I don't think the weight will effect Marquez much unless he tries to put on more weight, Pacquiao is only 3-4 pounds heavier than him on fight night. About Marquez being a tough match up and Pacquiao improving I agree, I'm not sure if Pacquiao will stop him but it's very possible. Last time Marquez fought at 144 he looked terrible. I'm sure that was alot more to do with the fact he was fighting Mayweather than the weight but it sure won't help anyway. Marquez going 12 rounds wouldn't surprise me, I'm just basing it on the fact that Pacquiao has never looked stronger that what he has at welterweight imo and Marquez is naturally a lightweight, and his chin is shaky at times although he's never been stopped.

I have no idea how exactly this fight will go. Pacquiao has improved since the last Marquez fight, he's simply a smarter better fighter now and although Marquez hasn't looked worse, he has aged a few years which is always gonna work against a fighter. It also works in favor of Pacquiao because it is being fought at 144 when Marquez is alot more natural at 135. The only reason i think Marquez can be competitive is because he is a tough matchup stylistically for Pacquiao. He's an excellent counter puncher, moves well and puts together some amazing combinations which has worked against Pacquiao everytime they fight. When i really think about it, Pacquiao's advantages outweigh Marquez's. I think Pacquiao stops Marquez, it could be in the early rounds or late rounds but i'm confident he gets stopped which is unfortunate because i like Marquez. Larry,u's 1of my favorite e-homeys.But sometimes u leave me scratching my head bro.sometimes at 160 & below,Martinez is the man.Then all of a sudden it's back to Floyd is the man & acting like a deluded flomo.Then Marquez doesn't belong at welterweight,now all of a sudden a fat,bloated Marquez is gonna somehow give Pacman hell?? Marquez isn't doing what Cotto couldn't.Marquez is gonna get bossed on by Manny,the fight won't be competitive.Pacman is a bonified welterweight.Marquez was having trouble & got hurt by lightweights.Dropped by lightweights & had wars with lightweights.Manny beat the $hit outa real,legit welterweights. No matter how much Pactards claim Manny can make 135,he can't.But even if he could he won't.Pacman must have an advantage everytime he performs so Marquez is getting screwed,beaten & dominated at welterweight so Manny can look good & make easy ppv money.While his fans rant & rave along with espn about how great Manny is.Except for Atlas,1 of the few espn analyst that knows anything about the sport.

The Pac we saw vs JMM when they fought was a completely different fighter. Skill wise not so much but size wise it's a world of difference. Like another poster said, his ability to move up and keep his power and speed at 140+ is the difference. JMM vs Mayweather didn't look like the same fighter, he was soft in the middle and just didn't look like the fighter we are used to seeing. I may not buy this one to be honest with you. JMM will get KO'd and his career will come to an end not being able to beat the Filipino Phenom.

Pac beat JMM twice, and i sometimes wonder if FLoyd could have beat JMM? His win over JMM isnt legit as JMM was bloated. Id like to know what would happen with Floyd and JMM at 135 or 140

Manny's punch volume has gone up,his handspeed seems faster (than in this fight) and he moves his feet around at a far more exhausting pace than ever. Now looking at Marquez these days,he has slowed down,uses even less of his feet (not that he ever used them much to begin with)and doesn't even go in for the kill.I think you will see a fighter who has "somehow" moved up in ability (Pac) and a fighter who has lost a few steps (JMM).Marquez at the lower weights had to eat some punches from Manny to deliver his own-I doubt this higher weight will benifit him-he will be as slow as the Floyd fight,and probably as stationary.I doubt JMM's punches will even daze Manny like they did when they fought in their rematch.
