I know it would never happen, boxing politics being what it is, but wouldn't it be awesome if there was a boxing equivilant of the Ryder Cup which happened every couple of years?
If the best boxer from Europe in each weight class squared off against the best from each weight class from the USA it would be great to watch and would bring loads of casual fans in.
It might look something like this:
Heavyweight: Chris Arreola v Wlad Klitschko (Ukraine)
Cruiserweight: Steve Cunningham v Krzysztof Wlodarcyk (Poland)
Light Heavyweight: Bernard Hopkins v Nathan Cleverly (Wales)
Super Middleweight: Andre Ward v Carl Froch (England)
Middleweight: Paul Williams v Felix Sturm (Germany)
Light Middleweight: Cornelius Bundradge v Sergei Dzinziruk (Ukraine)
Welterweight: Floyd Mayweather v Jan Zaveck (Slovenian)
Light Welterweight: Tim Bradley v Amir Kahn (England)
Lightweight: Brandon Rios v John Murray (England)
Junior Lightweight: Adrian Broner v Ricky Burns (Scotland)
Featherweight: Mikey Garcia v Sofiane Takoucht (France)
Super Bantamweight: Rico Ramos v Rendall Munroe (England)
Bantamweight: Nestor Rocha v Volodymyr Sydorenko (Ukraine)
Super Flyweight: Raul Martinez v Stephane Jamoye (Belguim)
Flyweight: Brian Vilora v Andrea Sarritzu (Italy)

If it includes countries from europe than its only fair for Mexico and Canada to be involved considering we are all one continent.
I was thinking something like this the other day but Not in Ryder Cup fashion cuz you'd be leaving out the South American, Central american, caribbean and Asian fighters. I think it would better like Olympics but with pro fighters. Each country would put 1 fighter in each weightclass. Two countries will face off and country with most wins during that night will move on to the next round.
Yeah that's a good idea. A world cup of pro boxing. I think some sort of team event will get a lot of people interested in boxing.
