WOW, Foreman really let Wlad have it!!! :owned:
"Well, he’s a defensive fighter. It doesn’t matter if his opponent is big or small, he will never take any chances. He’ll probably go down as one of the most reluctant Heavyweight Champions ever. Floyd Patterson wasn’t that big, but at least he took a chance and stood in front of Sonny Liston. So he’s not going to go down as the bravest guy. The reason why he’s reluctant is because he has a weak chin. He’s always trying to protect that chin, but he’s not going to leave much of a legacy."

foreman speaks the truth. Man both klits are the same way. they have these very inferior fighters infront of them some who couldnt crack and egg but intead of going out there and blasting these guys out they jab and jab and jab grab grab and repeat. some of the most boring champs in the history of the sport
I wouldn't necessarily say that about Vitali, he really does systematically beat guys up, and if they are there for the taking, he will take that opportunity. For me Vitali is not the fastest, or most skillful fighter you will ever see but he proved in the Lewis fight he would have stood the test of time with all the greats, he might not have won them all, but he belongs.

Vitali does not jab and grab

One of my big beefs with his career is that considering the weak competition he is not exactly blasting guys out of there. If you consider the Lewis comparison, when Lennox had a Tua in front of him, yes he fought a boring safety first fight, (even then he was whipping body shots and right hands) but when he had a Grant in front him you can bet he would go dog on him.
You can't really blame him, because he does have a couple of glaring weaknesses as you mentioned, it just is what it is.
Hopefully the Klitschko whores will get it now, doubt it, but hopefully they will stop thinking things like Wlad easily beats a prime Holyfield.
I agree completely. Good post.
Are things really his way? He's great at what he does now,but he's been forced to abandon his all around skills in risky fights for his jab and grab style because of flaws in his stamina and chin.

Bravest or riskiest and thus dumbest? Wlad is certainly the smartest of them all. Why risk, when you can accomplish your things your way?

Klitchkos predicted long ago that they will rule heavyweight division and there is no question they were right. That they are not as excited to watch is partially the fault of their opponents who are usually running away from brothers punching power. When some of them try to be brave they end up on the floor, ore often then not. And so the story goes.
As for Foreman let's not heed to his "wisdom". In the "Rumble in the Jungle" we saw clearly where his brave "risk taking" got him. On the floor and finished. If he was a bit as smart as either of Klitchko, Ali would be conquered in the "Rumble in the Jungle" contest. Foreman was dumb. Ask Ali.
Wlad and Vitali had an opportunity to cut a legacy using Value and even Ruiz. Vitali should fight Haye and Wlad should fight Adamek. They also need to sort out fights with Povetkin. They can build something fir themselves if they really pushed it.
I think Wladimir Klitschko will be more appreciated once he has retired for a long time. Especially when the HW division gets "exciting" again. Boxing fans will catch and realize it was boring because it was being dominated by a very skillful boxer who knew how to utilize his height and used it as a strength.
pretty much like every HW champ in history.
I agree with George 100% but I also give some credit to Wlad because he's done a good job protecting a questionable chin. I do believe that a challeger must "take" a title but the champ must be "fighting" in defense of it too!!
As to any of the current heavies none would do very well back Louis's era and none would fare well in the early 60s thru the late 70s!! 'None of these challengers can punch and Wlad does have good power in his right but he doesn't take good shots either. Ali and Holmes and plenty of others could give and take and I don't see that in the Klitz Bros.
It sure would be better if either of them had personalities and chins atleast they'd be interesting in and out of the ring. Their fights are boring because their opponents have to supply the excitment but none of them can fight!!
Its not the Bros. fault that the comp stinks but they're not exciting either!
Ray.
this site is predominantly American
The Klitschko Brothers are European
The Klitschko Brothers have been knocking out Americans for years
Foreman is American
American's like to be the best and don't like it when someone who is not American threatens that.
Fair to say there is a good chance of some good ol' American bias going on in this thread....

To be honest I Don't think Americans care that much. They are hardly top American fighters the Klitschko's are knocking out. Lennox Lewis was not American, and you could tell he was not universally liked in the US, but he was accepted and respected as the best because of his accomplishments. Foreman is just calling it how he sees it without bias and prejudice, and on the whole I think the fans are the same.
looks like big george is looking for a war of words with klitchko but in the sceme of things wanting to be an actual OPPONENT! that's right. yes he is to old but it still would be huge. raking in more $$$$$$$ 's than the current challengers the brothers are facing. i would watch it. probably a slaughter but what if george could land a few bombs?
