So I know vcvc wants me to "let it go man" but I wanted to make sure you guys saw this. Apparently Dan Goosen was sitting behind the judge Hilton Whitaker who was holding his card up so Goosen could read it. The same judge appeared to be speaking to the USBO President during the fight. The USBO is part of the IBO which has Paul ranked #1 at 154lbs. According the ABC prez these are both violations of their rules. The prez also questions whether or not that particular judge is even accredited to judge fights.
ABC looking at Williams - Lara fight pictures

ABC President Timothy J. Lueckenoff has been sent screen shots Judge Hilton Whitaker II during the Williams – Lara and has shared these photos with other ABC officers which are in a consulting mode as a result.
“There is some issue with the way Whitaker is holding his score card throughout the fight, Williams’s promoter sitting behind him, and the USBO President sitting beside a sitting judge. It is inappropriate to say the least and we have advised Aaron Davis to get a copy of the fight and review it.”
We asked Mr. Lueckenoff, if Mr. Whitaker was correct in the way he was waving around the scorecard and could it be perceived conflict of interest the way the seating was.
“No our judges are not to hold their scorecards in this manner, an officer of a sanctioning body should not be seated next to a judge, and if Goossen was looking at a scorecard he should have been removed from that seat or asked to leave. Yes, it has the appearance of a conflict of interest, which is not good for boxing. At my fights I always have one of our officials on either side of a judge. Even if nothing is going on it just looks wrong”
Tim was asked if Mr. Hilton Whitaker Jr. was an accredited judge with the ABC and we were informed, “Mr. Whitaker has never attended one of our seminars or been accredited through us.”
All during the fight a person reportedly to be Whitaker III is speaking to someone to his right, but no one is close to him but his father or Goosen behind him, there is a gentleman seated to his left and another several feet away to his right but the judge is seated between them.
This is his daughter or daughter in law, seem to go by the name of "Donald". Why would his kids take their fathers FIRST name as their last?

But wasnt Whitaker the guy who had it a draw? Shouldnt they be looking into the other 2 blind tw@ts?
No Whitaker scored it 115-114 for Williams. The judge who scored it 114-114 was Al Bennett
referee: Samuel Viruet |
judge: Donald Givens 116-114 |

He has LINKS to Don King btw.
This whole thing stank right from the moment they read 114-114 aloud. The stench has only increased. I'm glad this outrage isn't dying too quickly. People need to stop shrugging their shoulders with an apathetic: "Oh, well, that's boxing for you!" This is a sport we love. No one here should want to see this issue go away until something positive has been done. I certainly don't expect anything as just as a reversal, but future bouts have to be protected.
I agree. In all reality they wouldn't reverse the decision, but hopefully the attention this is getting will protect future fights. And hopefully we won't see ANY of the Whitakers judging again, they seem to close to other aspects of the sport to be trusted as judges.
I don't think this decision can be fixed, but maybe it can help clean up judging all over boxing. The Zbik-Chavez Jr was bad, Alexander was bad, and this was bad.
That's what I'm hoping, I don't expect them to actually fix this fight's outcome b/c they never do, but I'm glad it's getting some attention. It should certainly make the NJ commission think twice about assigning inexperienced judges to a high profile fight for the near future.

Nothing would come out of this absolutely nothing, I watch the fight for the first time this morning on Youtube and how those judges can score THAT fight to Williams is beyond me.
