I don't think Williams people have any intention of fighting Lara again. Instead, Williams people have already reached out to Carlos Molina.
Interesting.
This is a great fight. Paul Williams is still a 'name' fighter and Carlos Molina is a streaking underdog. The winner gets a BIG win that sets them up for other quality fights. Honestly, Lara rematching Williams is not needed right away. LET Williams redeem himself and then rematch in a fight that's worth making and not just seen as an unfortunate circumstance. Ratings for Williams/Lara II would be poor if it was immediate. Same as if we had an Antillion/Rios rematch. Who cares?
Lara should be glad Williams wants Molina. Whoever wins, Lara is guaranteed a good money showdown for a rematch with them in an HBO main event. Much better than Williams getting cold cocked by a fighter that would be "too big of a star" to bother with Lara afterwards.
IF HBO Doesn't pickup Lara after this fantastic performance, Showtime should pick him up.
Showtime's ratings have been awesome these days. Rios-Antillion fight i bet did quite well and don't forget the Super Six.
once again paul williams will get 1 million dollars to fight on hbo, get his ass beat again but end up getting a gift decision. :nonono: thank god i cancelled hbo months ago.

To make matters worse: Because Lara suffered a small facial fracture from a headbutt, Dr. wouldn't let him fly. Had to drive back to Miami.
no it's not. If he's not going to fight Lara, Lara and Molina should fight, two winners.
If Williams isn't going to fight Lara he should fight on Friday Night Fights. He shouldn't be rewarded with another million dollar payday on HBO.
Hopefully HBO does the right thing and tries to force the issue like they did with Williams-Martinez II.
You sure Lara wants to see Molina again~, I am sure he could have got that rematch to that controversial draw if he wanted it before~
well if you could make up a scenario where Lara gets a title shot and P-Will vs Molina is on the undercard, yeah that would be dope. Sounds very unrealistic though. My guess is we wont see Lara fight at all this year, maybe in December if he's lucky, while Williams will headline another HBO card.
Lara might be held out with that eye injury.
He needs to get a guarantee of sorts from HBO for a title shot and a big pay day.
Ether way PW should not be paid much next time out.
Al Haymon will prevent this though.

PW still gave a game effort and while he dosen't deserve a million $$. He should at least be on a Lara main event under-card. Lara should get a title shot.
Lara deserves a big payday and PW should get a severe reduction in pay.

I hope he either retires or never fights another southpaw again. Molina quite frankly does deserve a good fight after smashing Cintron. Lara deserves a great fight, but PW shouldn't fight him again because he got beat bad and it isn't going to change or get better for him it will just result in him taking another beating by a southpaw. Williams gets on HBO because he's all action and win or lose is going in there to fight. I'm torn because PW is my favorite fighter, but I don't want to see him take unnecessary beatings.
this is what iam most pissed off about. Williams will go on to have ANOTHER pay day on hbo wasting date and hbo fund while on the other hand lara will be punished by not fighting at all the entire year!
orthodox - check
5'9 - check
6 KO's in 25 fights - check
Perfect!
For an undercard. Like the 3rd fight below two better fights.
he probably did doesn't mean williams shouldn't give lara a rematch.
He should. Not giving Lara rematch is admitting defeat in its-self.
But since he's not, this is a nice constellation prize.
That way if he beats Molina, he can say, "Well Molina had a draw with Lara and I beat Molina."
He can say I beat the guy who arguably beat Lara and beat Kermit.
Double feather in his cap.
Actually winning will not be easy.
