......................
ok so he did not look so great last night
in fact he looked awful but he was coming off a year layoff and a BRUTAL K.O. loss ....
no way am i saying he deserved that decision last night i had lara up by atleast 4 rds
but there is no need to bash the man ..call him a bum and all these things when in fact he is a warrior and a true champion of out great sport
he didnt make excuses after the quintana loss or the martinez loss ! and if he got the L last night he wouldnt have either ..this site is full of pathetic posters who call themselves "boxing fans" ..seriously?? the man gave it everything he has to entertain you .the fact is his career might be over and i wanna pay this great champion some respect, I myself was fortunate enough to have been live at Williams Martinez 1&2 both insane fights especially the first match and im thankful for that give the man some credit for once i dont get this sport where fighters who are down to fight anyone anytime i.e WILLIAMS ,HATTON,COTTO,MARGARITO who bring heart and excitment 2 the ring are the ones the fans hate on the most then love fighters like mayweather and pacquiao who totally jerk us in to buying bull **** ppv where we know theyre not being challanged in
so im taing this time to salute and thank http://i52.tinypic.com/15e8dfs.jpg A :boxing::boxing:TRUE CHAMPION ! PAUL THE PUNISHER WILLAIMS !
"but he was coming off a year layoff"
Paul Williams was not coming off a year lay off.
The fight before Lara was in November 20 2010.
Dec, Jan, Feb, March, April, May, June, July 9.
That's 7 months and 29 days.
And he's probably gonna fight again before it hits 12 months since his Martinez loss. That would mean he fought 3 times in one year.
So rust is completely out of the question, and you were WAY off with the one year comment.
But I do agree with you. He has a lot of heart, great chin, how many guys would survive those brutal lefts, he also gave 100% effort. His efforts are being overshadowed by the clear robbery.
I'm 33 and have been watching boxing since i was 10. I have seen a loy of bad decisions, and all I'm saying ids that ranks up there when Lara clearly won by about 4 or 5 rounds.
Don't let the fact that you are a Williams fan blind you from the truth, the fight wasn't even close.
lol ok man, I didnt once say that williams won the fight and if you read the boards you will see I said judges should be penalized for crap decisions such as the one we saw last night. I know Lara was robbed and I know PW should have lost I have made that clear more than once today what I was saying is there have been far worse decisions than that one.
you havent seen enough boxing if that was bad lol

What does any of this have to do with the fact that Lara was robbed last night in one of the most horrible decisions I have ever seen.

smh nothing u moron
did the title say anything ab the robbery ?
this thread is ab showing respect for a true champion who is clearly at the end of a great career
Williams has a lot of heart and that's what boxing really needs some more of. Lara really won the fight but I'm happy for Williams all the same for fighting his heart out
Williams has always been and always will be considered a great fighter especially in this day and age, he never *****ed about anything or anyone he just went in the ring and did what he was good at doing and there to do. Its unfortunate the circumstances of last night but wanna be boxing experts (1/2 or more of this site) are going to call him a bum anyway just because he lost. All of a sudden they are going to be kissing the as* of Lara until he loses and then they will move on to the next fighter. Most of the people here are fair weather fans havent you found that out by now especially since the Haye/Klit fight. They were all for Haye and now look at them. I got respect for Williams but he is getting past his prime years and maybe should consider stopping in the near future not necissarily right now.
i agree 10000%
im still looking for a new boxing forum this one has changed so much since 2006
Fukking Agreed!!!!!
War Paul Williams!!!!
A throwback ass kicking warrior!!! If he wants to retire then go for it if not I still support him. The kid is all balls. Hes actively pursuing Martinez and Sergio doesnt bring a dime to the table, he just wants the challenge. In the day of bytch made boxing Divas how can people hate on Paul?
