I, being a Cuban, didn't see much of a chance for Lara last night, but he gladly surprised me. He fought the fight of his life and won it widely. He showed excellent defense, speed, footwork, and although he still tends to stay quiet when close, he improved that a lot.
How far do you see him going?
he looked great last night
he doesn't even have 20 fights yet
he stepped off the pedal late, but he's clearly capable of going 12
and when he becomes more experienced he'll figure out how to bring more offense in late in the fights
the dude behaved like a pro
he had a grapefruit sized hematoma that was barely mentioned by the hbo staff (probably because they though it was williams last fight after six rounds)
i was impressed
i had pegged him as a guy who would have trouble turning up the heat and doing enough in a big 12 round fight but he proved me wrong
he couldn't miss with that left hand
you know who else looked real good last night (in light of two different fights?)
carlos molina haha
Im not really sure because i saw Quintana do pretty much the same thing to Williams in their first fight and Williams had less wear and tear on him at that point. I would like to see him a couple more times but as of right now a talented boxer with decent pop.
