He should either get him to retire or take him to the Kronk gym in Michigan to work with Manny Steward period. I respect Paul's decision to remain loyal with his people, I really do, but I really think boxing missed out big time on him possibly becoming the one of the greatest fighters ever. It may be a long time before we see another fighter with those kind of physical tools again.I just really wish that he had got with Steward some years ago, as I think he could have been the dominant force at 154 and 160 right now. At this point I am kind of hoping he retires as I don't want to see him get KOd again by Martinez. It is also great to know how smart he has been with his money, that should teach some of the guys around here not to be quick to judge people as some people use to insinuate that he wasn't smart.
As for Lara, my hat is off to him, he fought exactly the way he should have. He didn't allow Williams to fight his king of fight and landed the overhand left at will. He reminded me alot of a young /Joel Casamayor out there. This fight won't ruin his career so no worries, we all know who won that fight. I really look forward to seeing him going forward. I hope he gets in the mix to fight guys like Canelo and Chavez.
I've got to agree. I thought it was time for a new trainer when I saw that Peterson said Paul did nothing wrong and Martinez just landed a lucky shot. Obviously this fight proves that myth wrong.
Lara did great. He wasn't intimidated at all and did his thing very well. Even as a small planet was growing out the side of his head.
