These are all of the decent fighters who aren't tied up in the Super Six:
Andre Dirrell - Still hasn't announced his return and I'm sure he'll want a tune up anyways
Arthur Abraham - He's returning to 160
Anthony Dirrell - Still kinda green and has a big test ahead of him
Mikkel Kessler- Bute AGREED to fight him later this year, but Kessler opted to go for an easier title shot. That's not Bute's fault
Sakio Bika - What's the point? He already beat him once.
Allan Green - The dude lost every single round against Ward and got KO'ed by Johnson
Peter Quillin - Still green. Needs to step up the level of opposition.
Pavlik- This is who he's most likely fighting next
So out of everyone on this list, only Green, Quillin and Pavlik make any sense at this point. I'd prefer Pavlik over Green, and I need to see more from Quillin before I'll want to see that fight. He's fighting Pavlik, so why is everyone b**ching about his opponents?
He also got seriously hurt by Andrade in their 1rst fight, which makes me think he is vulnerable. I don't cry robbery because I feel he beat the count, got up around the 7-8 second mark even tho the ref counted slowly.
He ran out of gas is the only reason. He changed his training and started training in florida with glen johnson, now he knows how to get in shape. Hasn't shown any signs of fatigue.
It would probably be hard to get him to fight glen. He was thanking him for teaching him how to really get in shape after his fights. I wish kessler had manned up or dirrell would come back. Those are the only 2 i care to see bute in with till the super 6 is over.

Quillin and Anthony being green shouldn't matter. What's worse than being green, is being Paul Mendy.
hop is signed with hbo
bute with showtime
so unles they come together that will not happen
Hopkins can easily fight on Showtime, like the first Pascal fight.
Other then Froch and ward there is no real threat out there
People need to forget about Hopkins, that was all a publicity stunt and it's not happening

Even though he sat ringside and helped call the magee fight and said he'd kick his a** then went and signed the stieglitz match
Exactly. Either he wanted an easy title instead, or he just didn't want the fight.
Kessler opted to fight Stieglitz instead.
Even though he sat ringside and helped call the magee fight and said he'd kick his a** then went and signed the stieglitz match
Pavlik at 168 is not a good fight at this point it's a step up fight for Bute but I'm sure a better fight could be made.
why not Glen Johnson?
I completely forgot about Johnson. But besides him, who else is available and better than Pavlik? Quillin might be, but we don't know that yet. And I don't see Johnson pushing for that fight. He'll probably go back to 175.
Isn't Punk-ass Jean Pascal calling him out?
Pascal fights at 175, and he's probably fighting Erdei or Cloud next anyways.
That's what I'm saying I just don't get why people cry about his opponents when up until Pavlik returned, there was seriously nobody left for him.
That's a good point. I'm tired of explaining it. Lucian Bute is a legit world title holder fighting against the guys put in front of him to defend his title, while the other guys (better, popular etc.) are missing. 2012 will be a great year for Lucian.
*The fact remains—Bute has fought everyone put in front of him
He'll fight against Kelly Pavlik on 5th November.

Yes, he is. Which is why I don't get why people complain about his level of opposition. Aside from Pavlik, the only good fighter left was Kessler and he took the easier route. That's not Bute's fault.

why not Glen Johnson?
Let me go through phone books from Chicago, Mexico City,Kiev, Paris and Frankfurt.
I am sure I can find a few decent opponents listed amongst garbage men, taxi drivers or my personal favorite ditch diggers.
At least compared to recent opposition
I heard Antuwan Echols was available.
Peter Manfredo
Bute needs to quit ducking him.
You guys aren't serious, right? Pavlik, Green, Quillin > Both of them
Isn't he fighting Pavlik that's why showtime is broadcasting his fight in august to set up
Pavlik v Bute
