What do you think? According to Khan, Roach wants him to fight Floyd before Manny does - and it could happen sometime in 2012.
... He also said Pacquiao-Mayweather probably won't happen, because of 'politics', but if it did it would be the biggest fight in boxing history.
Pretty good interview:

the ones with manny or floyd in their name and a avitar and sig disrespecting the other fight are the last ones to be taken serious.
plus i dont care who floyd fights as long as its a guy comming to do his best im happy same with manny and everyone else. i love boxing and just wanna see good fights. not just superstars
Roach needs a warmup shot with Khan.....it's hilarious. Freddie knows Floyd can slowdown a fighter and beat them easily without getting into 3rd gear offensively and taking any risks.....he saw it first ahnd when he was in Oscar's corner.
roach knows that manny has a better chance of beating floyd if khan fights him first.

Golden Boy are the ones who started hyping the possibility of this fight in recent days, and now I see Khan is following suit. Disgrace if Mayweather fights him next, the 6th golden boy fighter in a row for him, and the 5th opponent at welter who was moving up with 1 or less fights there. Seems to me Mayweather and Golden Boy are in cahoots to make as much money off each other as possible to get back Arum
Khan could conceivably get outboxed by Bradley or Guerrero, or even KO'ed in a rematch with Prescott or Maidana, all of which would likely be far more damaging than a bad loss to, like I said, arguably the best boxer in the entire sport. Marquez lost badly to Mayweather and following a couple good wins, is back ranked highly in the p4p list.
I agree that Khan should look to unify his division, but not if a Mayweather fight is on the table. That's a fight nobody should turn down if offered.
I don't see it sorry. Maybe outworked by them, but not outboxed, no. Only guy from 140-7 who could outbox Khan based entirely on skills is Floyd (i'm not saying Floyd is the only one who CAN beat him, just talking about styles. Pac would probably KO him)
Khan would be sacrificing his future IMO he will probably lose badly and get exposed in the process, maybe even KO'd. Better for him to unify at JWW, get back on sky, or build his own brand.
I see what you're saying, but i don't think it's a bad thing at all.
And i'm sure he'd put a much better fight than most people expect, even if he doesn't get the W

So they want to sacrifice Khan for Pac's sake huh? And Khan is just dumb enough to fall for it.Yeah, a multi-million dollar payday and opportunity to fight arguably the best boxer in the sport is really sacrificing a guy. Khan would be soooo dumb to take that fight!
Floyd did say he wants to fight manny next..idk where you been
And your whole arguement about manny saying hed take the test got crushed today when his advisor came out and said he still hasnt agreed to take random ost.
his advisor also said several months ago that mayweather rejected $50 million guarantee and demanded $100 million. so which one do you want to believe?
bottom line is, if you're a fan of lil floyd and believe he can humiliate pacman in the ring, you wouldn't even talk so much about these silly little things. you also started by saying roach is protecting the pacman from floyd. man, if i believe floyd is that good and i'm a flomo i wouldn't focus so much about the stupid test.
pac is on video saying he will take the test. floyd does nothing. if i were a flomo i'd curse floyd every phucking hour for denying me the opportunity to see the pacman humiliated in the ring.

i thought people hated michael koncz? now we believe whatever he says as the truth? I'd rather hear what pacquiao has to say about full random blood testing from his own mouth rather than reading or hearing it from some middleman (michael koncz).
nahh. i've got my own time line. you do know that hundreds of fights are happening without the stupid tests don't you? yet pac is on video saying he will agree to the tests. he doesn't have to. he can say phuck you floyd, keep hiding behind these stupid tests.
bottom line, if floyd is really interested he can say, "let's start another round of negotiations. i'll fight the pacman in march next year, win or lose to ortiz."
:haha: the danger for floyd now is what if ortiz pulls off an upset?
so if i were floyd i'd start the pac negotiations now, win or lose to ortiz.

i don't think roach deliberately wants amir khan to fight floyd mayweather jr before manny. instead, i think he's trying to say that there is so much politics that's preventing the manny vs floyd fight that he feels that amir will get a shot at fighting floyd before manny does. i don't think he's trying to protect manny from floyd at all.
Okay let me see if i can find any type of information that shows how the fight hasnt happened...hmm if only there was somewherei could go that had all the information, some kind of timeline showing all phases of negotiations in order..hmm

i'm here to keep idiot's phucked-up logic in check. you said roach is protecting pac. protecting him from who? from an overrated boxer who is very reluctant to fight the pacman?
floyd is holding up this fight. that's general knowledge. don't take my word for it. go out there and find out for yourself.

The beginning of the third timeline starts with the mayweather ortiz press conference and ends with this thread.
Im nit even goin to respond because you obvusly are just talkingto feel like youre a part of something.

Arum maybe (protecting his cash cow), but Roach isn't protecting him from anyone. I think Roach has always wanted the fight. He's made this clear since the post-fight interview of the Pac-Cotto fight before OST or anything was even brought up.
If he wants Amir to fight Floyd first, it's purely to get a feel of Floyd (The DLH fight was 4 years ago, and by May 2012 it will be FIVE years) and make sure pacquiao is as prepared as possible. And no doubt pacquiao would fight FM straight after
To throw your young up and coming fighter, who isnt even in the same weight class let alot the same skillset in the ring with anfighter just to get a good feel is a terrible trait that im glad my trainer doesnt have.
I wiuld love to see floyd vs amir but not until amir has had a few more fights under his belt.
floyd doesn't even have balls to enter pac negotiations. it's simple really. he doesn't have to do anything special. he can send ellerbe or haymon out there and they'll negotiate for him. how complicated is that?
that is IF, a big IF he's really interested in a pac fight.

Hes protecting him from one thing and one thing only and thats a showdown with floyd..how can he say manny will be waiting than say amir will fight floyd first.
