My view on the fight...
- Fight wasn't as boring as most people are making out
- Fight was more fast paced then most of the Heavyweight fights in recent times. Name me another recent Heavyweight fight where you seen speed, agility and both the fighters in excellent shape?
- Klitschko got Haye on the back foot from the start and from then on Haye was unable to establish the front foot in the fight.
- Haye should have charged at Klitschko from the get go to unsettle him to stand any chance of beating him.
- And Haye didn'd do to badly compared to the other fighters Klitschko has fought recently. It's just because of his trash talk in the build up that people are giving him a lot of stick.
I don't see any problem with Haye vs Klitschko 2. I mean who else is going to give Wladimir a better fight? Maybe this time Haye will have learnt and go all out?
I still don't see Klitschko making as much money vs any other Heavyweight.
Thoughts?
Haye had his chance really. He said Wlad would be buried after he finish brutally knocking him out.
I still think Haye is probably the 3rd best heavyweight out there.
I agree, And dosen't that just make you feel pretty crap, the best heavyweight contender vs the world champ, was so one sided that David Haye only won 2 rounds on the the best judges scorecard, and I think 1 of those rounds was cause of A point deduction

I agree that in money terms there aren't any fights that will make Wlad as much money, But in boxing terms, Like I always say, Wlad just took away everything Haye had to offer by staying outside, and to stop him getting near him, he pumped the jab constantly, even when it wasn't hitting, David could not get close because Wlad was keeping the jab pumping so that when david moved in, and we saw this a few times, he was just moving his head into the jab, Which made him off balance, so that when he through his big punches, they looked crude and rarely landed flush. This is why Wlad is so effective, basically he is tall and big, but isn't slow, and will just pump that jab all night. So in Boxing Terms whats the point of David Haye fighting him again? It will be the same thing all over again, Haye will talk himself up saying he is going for the knockout early, like he does in all fights pretty much, then he will fight on the back foot, get jabbed a few times, avoid aload of punches, and land about 2 or 3 big punches, and the fight will be just as one sided, if not more one sided, because after that Wlad will be even more confident and won't be as cautious as he was early, and will maybe throw the right straight earlier on. I'd also like to point out that although, yes David took a big punch, he did manage to take some of the sting out of it by moving his head the same way as the punch, I think that If Wlad hits that punch full flush, David goes down, But thats unlikely to happen anyway because of Davids Speed.
So in fighting terms, Wlad should fight someone Like Povetkin, maybe even Helenius, because they pose more of a threat to Wlad than Haye IMO, But if he wants another huge payday, and a fight that he will believe he can win comfortably, he should opt to fight David Haye.
It was interesting mostly because of the hype, which is blown now and won't be there in a rematch.
Vitali versus Briggs had more suspense if only because you wondered if Vitali was going to literally KILL Briggs in the ring.
Tony Thompson got knocked out, but fought a FAR BETTER and more aggressive fight against Wlad, and won some early rounds. Does Tony deserve a rematch???
nobody but 5 people watched those other fights
this was wlads biggest fight
vitalis biggest fight was against lennox
either way vitali vs haye or wlad vs haye 2 will make more profit and viewing than any other fight thats out there...
the funny thing is the british public are still praising the man, the media however are not, but it's the people that matter, they are the ones who pay to watch.....
:beerchug:
the media in the UK as always are over the top.
I couldn't take my eyes off the fight in case somebody landed a bomb and had a sore neck at the end from staring up at the big screen in the sports bar I was in for 12 rounds. But I would have liked 15 rounds. This fight was another case for 15 rounders.
can't agree more

anyone saying the fight was not interesting is a moron
that was the best HW in a long longgggg time
yes there were not many punches thrown, but i was hooked on the screen, 12 rounds, it was like watching a chess match (not literally), two men trying to land big blows. Everyone thought it would not go 12 rounds, we all thought it would end on a TKO, so throughout we were all waiting for that one big punch from either man. In round 12 Haye landed a huge punch, Wlad held on, Haye was out of breath, Wlad started to fight back, it became all out, but both men were tired by then.
The match was fought as a very fast pace, you could see both men thinking, trying to outwit each other,
Great points. Both of them have lightning reflexes and had to concentrate 3 minutes of every round or it couldve been curtains. the mental energy expended I think really told on the physical. 15 rounds too wouldve been nice
i would actually give haye some more chances in a wlad rematch, but it's also kinda fair he faced the stronger bro now, that he presumably knows what he needs to do. vitali hasn't been seriously challenged in a while.
Yeah I think a second fight would be a good one, but saying that like I said in another thread, Haye would ant all the titles on the line again, but Wlad won't put them on again. So it won't happen, I mean I would watch the fight if it wasn't a title fight but Haye will won't them all which isn't going to happen, so I ain't getting my hopes up this one. It did take two years to set this one up, Haye was going to retire in October.
I'd like to see the fight but it's going to be a whole Mayweather Pacquiao business in it.

I'm not interested one bit. Perhaps some people are right that he would try a new game plan in a rematch. But you'd have to think if one plan is going horribly wrong that you'd try something else in the SAME fight at least towards the later rounds. Haye seems fine doing the same unsuccessful crap, avoiding punishment and laughing all the way to the bank. I don't respect that mind set and wouldn't be excited for a rematch. When you get your opportunity you have to take it. Otherwise all the trash talk and boasting is meaningless.
Haye chose the wrong tactics, he was trying to get Wlad to open up so he could try and catch him with a counter. Wlad didn't bite and happily stayed behind the jab to protect his chin. Haye would definitely try something different if he got the chance of a rematch.
