OK, anyone who has had any sort foot pain knows how excruciating the pain can be, i mean seriously it can be fukk4ed up. when we walk we walk from heel to toe, we put a huge amount of pressure on out feet everytime we walk squat etc..what im trying to say is with foot pain the last thing you want to do is twist and turn causing all that torsion on such a small part of the body, twisting and transferring weight through your legs is what you have to do to land the patented hayemaker, not to mention just the simple things like moving around the ring, etc. Im not saying it was a valid excuse, infact i think haye should have told us about it just before entering the ring, but it damn well affected his performance last night...
The outcome wouldn't have been any different I promise you.
Why do people still believe everything this dude says? It's one excuse after another. Haye never looked like winning the fight..
Haye: I broke my toe.
Larry Merchant: What do you mean by that? You broke your toe?
Haye: My toe is broken.
Larry Merchant: What part?
Haye: Phalangeal
broken toes heal quicker than 3 weeks but im sure he was pretty active within that time. its just unfortunate that he had to have a reason for losing, and that his toe was in that condition. at this level in the game it should of been taped up and dealt with and it shouldnt of been a concern when the bell rang. no pain no gain.
Broke my big toe in a football match.
Carried on playing.
I am a Eastern European warrior however.
Not a pussy like Haye.
Haye carried on fighting. Unless you think you go in there and do what Haye does?
If his toe was broken 3 weeks ago that doesn't validate his loss. Not postponing was a terrible idea if he truly cared about the fight. But, personally, I think he used the nearly month old injury on a fairly insignificant toe as an excuse as to why he lost. He took the fight for money in the first place so I dont think he cared much
Even if he broke his PINKY toe 3 weeks ago. He got shots for it, he took meds for it. HE WAS CHECKED AND CLEARED BY A FEW DOCTORS TO FIGHT.
Plus he had no problem running all night, he had no problem throwing his Haymaker, he felt more pain from the punches of Wlad than his little pinky toe. That toe wouldnt have given him troubles even without the meds, it was 3 weeks ago and looked almost healed, just a little swollen. The adrenaline of the fight he didnt feel it AT ALL.
Hell the punches that Wlad landed hurt David more than the toe, this was just an excuse to make himself feel better.
people who talk alot of smack never dish it out in the ring, thats why they talk so much, because they are insecure and are scared.
I have no doubt a sprained toe, broken toe, strained ligament or whatever hurts. But then either postpone the fight or suck it up and don't use it as an excuse immediately after the fight.
His toe did look swollen and everything, so all the stuff about "alleged broken toe" or whatever is fairly dumb. But he moved around well all night long. Move around and avoiding punches was the only thing he did well in the fight consistently, so it shouldn't be bought as a valid excuse and it once again just shows the type of character the guy has.
