Wlad is a great, great fighter that has slowly but surely gained my respect. He dominates everyone he faces. Its not his fault his biggest threat is related to him, its not his fault most of the heavies are old, green, out of shape or all 3 combined. Its not his fault.
With that said the division has grown stale imo. A win by David Haye would shake up this division and bring it back to life in a major way.
A win by Haye would set up potentially SEVERAL exciting fights involving him. I know he said hes retiring but he wont. A win over Wlad makes him a certified money making star period. He would fight on.
Haye vs, Wlad 2
Haye vs. Vitali
Haye vs, Adamek
Haye vs. Arreolla
Haye vs. Solis
Haye vs. Cunningham
I mean those are EXCITING scraps.
Then you mix up fights like:
Adamek vs. Cunningham
Adamek vs. Arrelloa
Arreolla vs. Solis
Solis vs. Cunningham
Wlad vs. Solis
and so on and so on. With that said I cant wait for the fight. Im hoping for a great fight.
sorry but if haye wins he's going to retire for sure. he ducked adamek on several occasions even as a cv, and won't fight vitali for sure. he will retire as slightly more as a hw unified paper champ. beat one guy and think you already are something is a bit too little.
If Haye wins tonight and then beats Vitali, he might pull a Mayweather....semi-retirement.
Hed be one of the biggest new stars no way he retires. Hed flaunt those belts non stop like the old school heavyweights did. Tink bout it he would be a new face and the MAN in boxings most prestigious division. No way he retires.
How is a cocky and offensive punk from South East London who has only fought 4 fights at heavyweight (all against semi-retired bums) and who plans to retire in a year to pursue a career in acting, better for boxing?
Wladimir is a tactical genius and a gentleman nearing his 50th knockout. Don't throw rocks at the throne.
Because that punk single handedly has made this fight a must see event. Has very little to do with Wlad. He's boring in and out of the ring, and although it's not his fault the heavyweight division is filled with a bunch of fat bums who just sit at the end of his jab and make for terrible fights to watch. He wins and there won't be another really relevant heavyweight fight for years.

depends on what you mean, i do like wlads personality and i think he makes a great idol for kids, polite, nice, doesnt drink, heighly educated, gives money to charity etc.
but by all means it wouldnt hurt him to get more aggresive and entertaining in the ring
That's the problem: It would hurt him! That's why he's so boring. He's the Catenaccio of boxing.
Wlad losing does make the HW division a little more exciting for the span of 6-12 months.
Wlad winning does nothing for HW boxing.
Vitali will have to avenge the family's honor. Which will be Haye's guaranteed last fight. So it brings excitement to the HW division even if it is a day and a half.
Maybe the K2's aura of invincibility will vanish and the other HWs will start to pick them off or at least challenge them.
Nobody has cared about Wlad's reign of dominance and that won't change. If Wlad wins I don't see any anticipated HW bouts for the foreseeable future.
No out outside of Germany/Eastern Europe/Russia cares. You are also correct he wins and there isn't going to be another fight to get excited about in the heavyweight division for years. It's been a decade since the last mega fight, and if Wlad wins it could be another decade. Haye wins and there will be 2 in one year.
Change is always healthy. If Haye wins and retires then all the belts are up for grabs again and we get to see some competition again.
yeah sure, we all remember how many good competitive fights there was with all the champions ducking each other going for safer and weaker matcups
But with a champion who isn't as earth-shatteringly boring as Wlad.

it would be a sensational fight, however it would send the hw division right back to the chaotic soup it was just a couple of years ago.
it think the division would be best of with a dominant unified champ fighting the upp and coming contenders who themself will have to fight each other to get a shot at the title, in short its should be as it used to be in the old days

The best we'll get from Haye, if indeed he beats Wlad, is a Vitali fight, then he'll retire.

Maybe for the very short term Burner but none of those fights you presented that could happen will as Haye is going to walk away from the sport shortly. The Stability of Wlad's dominance is better for the division than some brief intrigue.

I want boring boring Klitschko to get sparked and the Klit hegemony to end. That pair of bland jokers have basically tied up the division making it utterly irrelevant. A Haye win would break their hold on the division and open it up.

spot on, wlads dominance has be long missed since the days of lewis, wlad will probably not retire in a while, is allways prepared and fights the best of the bunch as long as they are willing to fight him.
wlad vs adamek would be nice if vk somehow loses, wlad vs povetkin, arreola, boytsov would also be great matchups in near future.
Haye doesnt follow his words, has pulled out of fights and fought useless competition like audley harrison.
besides Hayw talks about retire at the age of 31 which i find absurd, the hw divison certainly dont need to go back to the messy soup with several weak champions it was just a couple of years ago

Is not fair to Wlad but Haye winning is GREAT for boxing. | BoxingScene Community
