I believe so....even though I believe Floyd should have this in the bag (SD)...
Victor is young, hungry, fast, powerful, big and a southpaw....
Floyd being the best defensive fighter since Pernell should just sit in the pocket and poshot...then pour it on in the later rounds when Victor might deviate from the plan....
Opinions?
heeeeeeell no. he might be floyds toughest fight at 147lbs and im not even sure about that. but floyd fought way tougher guys in teh lower weights. genaro hernandez, chico corrales etc.

Ortiz is the biggest threat in September 2011. Floyd's previous biggest threats were: Mosley in 2010, De La Hoya and Hatton in 2009; Carlos Baldomir in 2008 and prior to him were Castillo and Diego Corrales. Everyone Floyd has fought with the exception of Marques was a threat to him before he beat them. Everyone of them has been bigger and stronger than him and all were expected to give Larry Merchant the orgasm he hasn't had in the last 60 years by beating Mayweather. It won't happen in September either or in 2012 if Pacquaio decides to stop cheating and take the tests.
You're a scrub dude. Just go back to threads where you can swing from Manny's testicles to his butthole, where you enjoy spending time and are in your element. You don't know anything about boxing you are just a pathetic excuse of a pactard. Go and get excited for Pac/Marquez - where Pacquiao will be picking on another senior citizen. If you don't like Floyd, stay out of threads pertaining to him, you loser.
shut your mouth by choking on a dick. that's what you do best.
Young, fast, powerful, big, and southpaw......

sounds like that guy.
I think that Judah was Floyd's biggest threat to date. Arguably it could have been Castillo.
I'm with you. I am hyped up for this fight mainly because I want Ortiz to win so bad but you just gotta remember how great Floyd is defensively, he is just the best I have ever seen he's a phenom.
Oscar was a very tough fight and that was at 154 and Floyd was the much smaller man.
Corrales and Mosley were also guys I thought would give Floyd more problems and he made those guys like amateur.
Floyd is just amazing, but I hope that Ortiz just keeps pressuring and landing big shots to break him down and score a KO.
If anyone says they saw floyd doing that to corrales (rip) then they are fvcking lying. That was an awesome performance. Only Tyson KO'ing Spinks was more impressive to me.
damn dude, stick to your day job. ortiz will get outboxed easily. its gonna be pathetic. ortiz won't be able to force wifebeater into a brawl.

The version of De La Hoya that Floyd fought beats most fighters at 147-160 right now.

when u put it into perspective floyd has'nt fought to many live 1st ballot hall of famers for that fact nor have most of the other top fighters. the kid talks a big game but doesnt put up. to call urself the best and compare yourself to the legends like ray robinson is just ridiculous ( He defeated other Hall of Fame fighters such as Jake LaMotta, Carmen Basilio, Gene Fullmer, Carl 'Bobo' Olson, Henry Armstrong, Rocky Graziano and Kid Gavilan)
regardless of floyds talent he never really has challenged his self by fighting the best of his time.(not talking about pac)
vic will be one of his toughest due to the fact that the kid is big and hungry and the shoulder roll doesnt work as effectively against southpaws.

I can agree with Martinez beating that version of De la Hoya but Williams fvck no. What is folks fascination with Williams? Dude is 6'2" and fights like he is 5'2" with no defense. If you mean Jermain Taylor I have to say no to that as well. Taylor just don't have what it takes. I am not even a De la Hoya fan at all.
What can De La Hoya possibly do to beat Taylor and Williams?
Assuming the fight happens at 160, Taylor can't make 154, so it would have to be 160. No way De La Hoya beats Jermain Taylor at 160. DLH looked like crap at 160 in both of his fights there. What makes you think he would all of sudden look good against Jermain Taylor? The former Middleweight Champion, who dethroned Bernard Hopkins, who hadn't lost since 1993 before that. I know styles make fights, and Taylor beating Hopkins, and Hopkins beating Hoya, doesn't mean Taylor would beat Hoya. It's just, DLH does not look good at 160, period. He is a 154 fighter.
Williams could fight like he's 3 feet tall. Williams style is all wrong for De La Hoya.
Let's not forget, and again I know styles make fights, but let's not forget Paul Williams beat prime Antonio Margarito...Who DLH avoided, to fight Manny Pacquiao in 2008. That is relevant because although DLH is a better boxer than Margarito, Williams showed in that fight that he 'had' a iron chin and just comes forward throwing lots of punches. Could DLH have handle that? I don't think so.
But that's the 2007 DLH. I would easily pick prime DLH over current Williams.
Zab wasn't a walk in the park either. Until the later rounds when Floyd systematically broke him down.
The only thing that concerns me is if Floyd uses the wrong game plan. If he is stationary like against Mosley, he might struggle. If he fights aggressive but smart, I see Vic fading late and getting owned when it happens.
Oh I agree, Zab wasnt a walk in the park at first. And was faster than Floyd as well. I dont think that Floyd will choose to walk Vic down(not at first), I think Floyd is gonna capitolize off of Vic's mistakes early and often. But Vic has a new found determination, and could give Floyd some serious problems early. I see Floyd's left hook, and straight right being a big problem for Vic. And the stabs to the body might have Vic leaning in and giving up his slight height advantage. IDK bruh. I'm really excited for this fight. Too bad I wont be able to see it. :crying:
Not at all Flicker bruh. Vic is not as talented as Zab was. But he is very talented, and younger, biger, and possibly stronger, not to mention a southpaw with a good jab. I dont think this is gonna be a easy fight for Floyd at all, and we might even see vic get a KD against him. I still think Floyd wins this fight. But I'm seeing something comparable to Floyd vs. JLC. I hope I'm wrong and Floyd dominates but by no means is this gonna be a walk in the park, and Floyd knows it.

Not 147. De La Hoya would have been weight drained.
I agree with possibly beating a lot fighters at 154-160, i'd have very few to beat him. I'd favor Martinez, Williams, and Taylor over him.
I would say Sturm but he's not the same fighter who seemingly beat DLH prior to the DLH-Hopkins fight.

That's true. But if he fought the WWs at a weight he's comfortable at, he'd probably beat them. Then I'd pick him over Mosley, Berto, Clottey, Ortiz, Jones, Solomon, Brook, etc.

Now THAT fight was a robbery. Thats why the liver punch landed from Hopkins. Karma.
