....but the more I actually watch Haye's fights, the less chance I think he has.
I really hope Haye will actually back up his talk. I just want a good fight!
Good post, I agree with most of these points. Byrd actually would have the advantage over Haye because his defense was WAY better, he just didn't have any power and he had a MASSIVE chin at heavy.
The power of Haye is what this fight so intriguing. But I think Wlad has fought guys as fast as him, but they couldn't even land a clean shot. You can have all the power in the world, but if you cannot land - it means nothing.
I personally think Haye knows he is up against the odds here, hence the out of the ring antics.
Haye winning is a massive dent in the legacy of Wladimir. He simply cannot afford to be put out by a cruiserweight.
I just hope the event lives up to the expectations.
Well this is the thing. Haye being hit by the jab of Ruiz quite regularly and was caught on a couple of occasions.Wlad has one of the best jabs in heavyweight history. I cannot for a minute see Haye avoiding that jab. It's fast, crisp, accurate, and packs power. These guys have all said they would take away the jab, but to their dismay.
Wlad is to seasoned and experienced to be caught with anything flush. Plus, Wlad does not take risks and calculates the risks of a throwing a certain shot.
I honestly see this fight as Bryd job. I see Wlad being slightly more aggressive perhaps but he'll wait till the time is right.
I don't see Haye eating to many of those straight right hands. He really is a blown up CW IMO.
I've said all along that - Haye might as well attempt to bush rush Wlad whilst fresh and hope to land something big.

I've said before, Haye's biggest problem is he gets hit easily, as evident in the Ruiz and Valuev fights, and he has no heavyweight jab. It will only take 3 or 4 of the hardest jabs he's ever felt in his life before the game plan changes and he's in Eddie Chambers mode.

You know, I like the style of Haye, but I think he's in trouble I've watched a couple of his fights, and he has a often of throwing wide punches, setting himself off-balance.
One thing I've noticed is at CW Haye has been badly hurt by cuff shots, and his chin doesn't seem great. Whilst the chin of Wlad is suspect, I believe he can take a better than Haye. Wlad packs monstrous power, and I cannot see a CW taking his right hands.
Haye will not beat the ten count I doubt.

You know, I like the style of Haye, but I think he's in trouble I've watched a couple of his fights, and he has some bad bits..often throwing wide punches, setting himself off-balance, and leaving self open for counters.

This could be an absolute stinker.
I wouldn't mind seeing an upset here but after weeks of listening to Haye talk, I've realized it's just that. Talk. Haye has a puncher's chance and that's never a good bet so I'm leaning toward the good doctor. But after hyping this fight up to all the casuals I know, it better be f*cking exciting.
Yeah he talks such a great game and has physical gifts that should give him an advantage, but actually watching Haye fight you realize Wlad will probably kill him.
Is there any fighter Wlad has faced with the mobility and agility Haye has besides speed?
Corrie Sanders was a moving target while it lasted and put his shots together quite well. Don't see him being as agile as Haye is, though.
Corrie Sanders had massive power in his left hand, the guy had a one punch KO power, while Haye doesn't has that much power, he's faster than Corrie, but he doesn't has as near as much power as Corrie had. Haye is a guy who needs to land some combinations in order to KO a guy, unlike Corrie who only needed one hand to KO his opponent. And still in Wlad vs Corrie, even though Wlad lost and was knocked down several times, he got up every single time, so I don't buy the "As soon as Haye lands, it's over" I mean the guy is not that powerful and Wlad has improved a lot since that fight, in fact I would go more with the "As soon as Wlad lands, it's over"
if you look wlad's losses, all were made by simple come forward guys. wlad has never lost to a technician. haye has to keep the pressure up to make wlad uncomfortable, which is something he can't do. haye could also go for a ko or try to decision wad. realistically he has pretty small chance at this as well.
david haye is fighting manny steward with wladimir's body in there
no way haye can out think manny steward
What are you on about? Go watch some Wlad fights and listen to the instructions Steward gives Wlad in the corner, 95% of the time he doesn't do what Steward tells him to. It's going to be the same old jab, step back and jab, hold. Wlad isn't going to change that for anyone.

last time i believed pre-fight hype.. Hatton got his ass KTFO by Pac... never again. LOL
I have no interest in this fight at all,Wlad is going to jab him to death and the first right hand that lands the fight is over, this is not Valuev Wlad has real boxing skills and a big punch.
This is pretty much how I see this fight, I do have an interest in it but I see Wlad winning easily, Too fast for a big man, too experienced as a pro, technically better, cool and calm under pressure, left hand jab which is the best jab in the business, big right hand to follow etc I just can't see how Haye would beat Wlad in reality, I see a lot of my countrymen are getting cattied away but am not, am hoping Haye wins but can't see it.
The speed is going to make a huge difference, and while Wlad is a lot bigger Haye is not a super short heavyweight. If he can use enough movement to avoid the jab and get inside on Wlad he can win the fight.
Don't delude yourself. Klitschko steps like a cat, and cuts the ring off like an expert. has the heaviest puncing power in Heavyweight history, and by far the best straight left, or...jab, to you. A killer of a right hand, one punch KO power and a good chin as his Peter 1 fight showed all over again.

Yes he was, a naturally twitchy, springy fighter. Moved very fast, punched very hard and fast etc. His problem was lack of fitness and bo9xing skills. rather faster than Haye, who wouldn't have lasted any longer than the very first punch, against Sanders.

haye cant fight on the inside
