New idiocy from David Nay:
Haye’s WBA title may not be on the line for Klitschko fight due to referee issue:
David Haye’s WBA heavyweight title may not be on the line for Saturday’s clash with IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko due to Haye and his camp not being happy with the choice of the referee working the fight. According to fight news, referee Genaro Rodriguez is slated to work Saturday’s fight.
Haye has a problem with Rodriguez being the referee, as he previously worked four of Wladimir’s fights in the past, not all of them wins though.
The World Boxing Association is threatening not to sanction the Klitschko-Haye fight, according to the Haye camp.
Without Haye’s WBA title on the line, it’s kind of a pointless fight for Wladimir because that was his main reason for fighting Haye in the first place. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/boxing/article-2008790/Row-referee-Genaro-Rodriguez-count-David-Hayes-WBA-belt.html#ixzz1QfKrgxyU
i don't think haye is a boxer that's easy to hold. he will most likely keep the distance ,so this argument doesn't hold much water. but .. it would be extremely unfair to wlad if he had to put his belts at stake, while haye just comes in for the paycheck.
I don't really understand this referee rubbish. For me, it doesn't really change anything. Haye isn't winning a decision he has to knock him out so the referee isn't a huge issue. Neither do i care if it's for any titles.
Not necessarily, it all depends on if this ref will allow Wlad to continuously hold Haye. If that scenario happens then I can't see how Haye has any chance of wnning. Sort of like Ali-Frazier 2, in that fight the ref allowed Ali to hold Frazier, even put his hand on the back of the head. Whereas in the other two fights that wasn't allow and Frazier won both (if Eddie Futch didn't call off the thrilla in manilla then Ali was going to quit the fight). So how controls the ref could play a role in the outcome.

Wasn't too long ago he was going on about all he needed was a ref who could count to 10, now he's taking his belt and going home? The WBA just doesn't want the Klits holding their belt hostage like the others :lol1:
Stop being a b*tch, put your chips on the table and get it on :boxing:
Isn't haye already getting 50% of the purse? What the hell does being lineal champion get you these days? Man alive!
Boxing is a business and Haye brings more money to the table. Wlad only brings to the table his RTL contract of 3/5million,Nothing else. Within the contract RTL have sole distributing rights within Eastern Europe and mainland Europe.
Sky PPV will generate around 1million ppv at £15.
All this really is, and everyone who knows boxing knows this, is a way for the WBA to keep Haye as the champion if he loses to Wlad. They don't want Wlad in there, they've done everything possible to keep him out, for example see the Chagaev fight where Wlad was supposed to win the belt and he got screwed out of it.
This is nothing more than continued thievery from the WBA.
I'll be honest with you I could care less if Haye remains the WBA champ afterwards (if he loses) as long as he fights people like Arreola, Adamek, etc. Make the big fights.
You're a stupid and terrible poster.
The belt WAS supposed to be on the line until this happened. If it doesn't get resolved there's a chance it WON'T be on the line. This has been in the news for the past 3 or 4 days.
For me as a boxing fan it's completely unacceptable that a boxer withdraws his belt just days before the fight.
The WBA were the organisation who tried to ruin the last unification. When Lewis beat Holyfield they went back on their word and wouldnt allow Lewis to make his first defence against Grant so they stripped him to allow Ruiz to get a shot. Didnt make much sense to anyone at the time but all their decisions are made form a business perspective and have no regard for whats right in principal.
They arent the first organisation to do it. WBC and Suliaman are probably the worst. The IBF have a bad rep and the WBO are the ones who gave Barrera his belt back after the 1st Morales fight because they thought he deserved to win the fight.
This is very unfair on Wvlad if its true but coming from Hayes camp I expect it is more hot air.
Its a smart tactic by Haye's camp in all honesty, they've made such a big deal about it now that the ref may end up favouring them instead of Wlad to compensate.
The WBA have stated the belt is on the line. I think Haye is doing mind games like Steward is going to train him etc...
He likes to piss Wlad off. I think he gets a buzz from it. Wlad seems to just follow it, such as Haye said he will put him in hospital, and Wlad asked him again, and Haye said yes.

Just more mind games by Haye. Nothing really to this. People can hate Haye all they want, but this thing wouldn't be the event it's going to be if he had just kept his mouth shut the whole time. This is really the first time I have ever thought any Wlad fight was must see TV.
Choose a ref both are happy with. Simple.
