In his presscon, Floydie has talk about Pacman to sell his fight against Ortiz.
He's got all the opportunity to talk about Pacman in Youtube or any other media outlet. But reality will tell us that its Floydie who needs Pacman to sell his fight with Ortiz.
Mayweather: I just wanna go out there and be the same Floyd Mayweather that i was in 1998...you go back for like the Angel Manfredy fight.........
3:24 mark.
What a joke this guy is! lol!
Age is what did in Mosley. It also didn't help that the almost 39 year old Mosley had a 16 month layoff!
So Floyd wouldnt had beaten him otherwise??
Mayweather ruined Mosley.
Pactards don't have common sense man, it's useless.

I do not think Floyd believes he needs to move as much anymore. Defensively, Floyd does a lot more parrying and blocking since his body has matured. Some people will say he moves less because his legs are going. I believe, why waste energy if you can stay in a certain position, pick off your opponents punches, then be in a position to hit back. If Ortiz was a experienced inside fighter, I would give him a chance. Ortiz has strength, but not enough skill in my opinion to out muscle Floyd. Ortiz also struggles when he is fighting on the back foot and not being a good counter puncher doesn't help his cause. I just do not see the repertoire in Victor's game that can produce a win against Floyd. Lastly, coming forward against Victor should allow for a decisive victory for Floyd.
When Ortiz gets hit he runs in to hit back. When he does this against Floyd he will be in big trouble. As for Floyds legs being gone, i doubt it but like he says he has never had to show his A game, Ortiz will not make him get it. Pac might.
I knew this would be his game plan anyway,Ortiz can't fight going backwards to save his life..Expect Ortiz to eat a bunch of straight rights and backing straight back...The Money Man is going to punish Ortiz..
Mayweather is not going to be moving because he has no legs and he is old. Honestly thought he was going to put in dentures when he was speaking at the Ortiz press conference.
dude u do realize ur being childish rite?? grow up.

Mayweather has never had a exciting fight in his entire career. Thats why he talks so much sh*t leading up to the fight because he knows his style puts people to sleep like Malinaggi.
His last 2 fights aren't his entire career. I'm sure you think it is, because it's the only 2 you've watched.
So who in this threae said anything about running but check hooks(and he dont count)
Not to mention that your post doesnt apply to the thread.
My post was a response to a fellow adult.

I don't know about his legs being gone (he plays basketball regularly) but it makes sense if he only moves when he has to. Why move more than you have to?
There's only a few fights where Mayweather's had to utilize all square footage of the ring;
Corrales, Castillo I & II, Baldomir, DLH, and some of the Hatton fight. All of his other fights, he's walked down his opponents and has been willing to engage, but his style impends on his opponents ability to think. The guy has gumption in the ring... no he won't stand and bang, but he'll slip, roll, and pivot while staying close enough to counter.
But somehow, that constitutes as running.

He does always say this, though at this point I wonder if his legs are gone enough that Mayweather doesn't want to move unless he has to.

Let's hope Ortiz can do it to bring out the best out of Floyd. If not, then he's just gonna outbox Ortiz comfortably. If you can't force him to fight at your level, then he'll just outbox you comfortably. It's not that hard to comprehend really. Think about it, he doesn't have to work as hard as any other Boxers to lands his punches, it's up to his opponents to try to work harder than him to lands their punches first.
yeah ortiz will probably just follow floyd around the ring, curious to see how much speed difference there is between the two
Yea lets not pretend he hasn't had plenty of exciting fights, everyone has some duds and boring fights, but like I said its his style, he likes to control the pace. And also its him in the ring not us. He's the one boxing, he's gonna get the win regardless if its exciting or not, and like dude said you know his style and his fights if you don't like, don't tune in. Against Ortiz you can't let him control the pace And pressure, you gotta get him moving back, ie Maidana and Peterson
Exactly. All his opponent/s have to do is try to not give him that sort of comfort and take it away. They have to come up with a way to do it. Otherwise, Floyd will look much more superior than them by doing lesser works, but he'll still end up with greater results.
