Seems like everyone on BS thinks that David has gotten under the skin of Wlad, I respectfully disagree.
Based on the faceoff and the press conference it seems, to me, like David Haye is extremely scared, looks away, bursts in his voice, talking around topics. But when I look at Wlad he has a crystal clear vision focused on David Haye, as in he can't wait to see him in the ring and when he looks at David it seems to me like it goes through the bones of him. To me it doesn't seem like David Haye is that happy about meeting Wladimir in the ringK.
I'm rooting for Wladimir but I'd been thinking this excact same thing no matter who I had been rooting for.

They are both full of adrenalin. Neither are scared.
Haye seems more excited than anything. sometimes he seems a bit too cool but Ive seen a very good interview of him when he was in training in Florida where he admitted that he has a high self-esteem and high expectations of himself and that he's well aware of his ego, but he still was humble enough to admit that among the greats he may or may have not had a great chance to beat any of them. I truly think he has a lot respect for Wlad but he wont show that until he's in the ring, and at the end of the fight. still Im hoping he ends this fight quick with a big shot just because it would make for a stunning upseet and we can then look forward to Vitali/ Haye next year.
I think Haye is a bit nervous when he is near Wlad, just because he can see how big of a man he is actually going to be in with (and a man who just kills people) and deep down he knows that Wlad is the best fighter he has ever been in with. And by a wide amount. I also dont think Wlad is afraid of Haye AT ALL. Wlad is chomping at the bit to get his hands on Haye. He feels disrespected and looks like he is about a second away from just hitting Haye at all times. Wlad doesnt understand the trash talking, he just wants to fight. Wlad is good at giving fighters that silent stare, but as much as that may frighten a fighter, it doesnt carry well in pressers. So Haye talks and Wlad just looks frustrated. It all ends Saturday.
I posted based on your thread title: "Am I the only one who thinks Haye is a lot more scared than Wlad?" wasn't specific.
I notice the word "scared" thrown around a lot.
Why would two pro fighters even get in the ring if they were "scared" of each other?
Intimidated is more like it.
But we'll never know until the fight starts won't we?
Maybe it's just me, but I'm sincerely sensing that behind the facade David Haye is afraid of Wladimir.
To answer your question I'd say that being scared is definitely a part of boxing, it's one of the most hardcore sports in the world. First of all, each fightnight is something you will remember for the rest of your life, the bigger you get, the bigger the stakes. It's not football where you have the opportunity to face the same team next week. At the level we're talking about, one of the biggest fights in boxing, you represent your whole country. I think the fearfactor in boxing is something not to be underestimated, just because the boxers are very good at handle it professionally - Or I could be wrong, maybe fear doesn't excist in boxing.
That was pretty much offtopic all the way. I'm just trying to see who people in here thinks have the most intimidating game outside the ring atm.

Haye is nervous without a doubt. Wlad admitted he was nervous. Haye said he didn't see fear in Wlad's eyes, just as Wlad said he didn't see fear in Haye's eyes("David's eyes are the same as his words")
Nervousness isn't a bad thing.
Both fighters, not to mention their teams, will have the jitters going in that ring. It's who is able to transfer it to his performance more effectively which will matter.
It will be a case of who will be the most anxious to end the fight quickly and who will be victimized by anxiety.

I think haye could be scared because deep down most boxers are but the ones with great ability know what they can do to the other person, rather than what that person is going to do to them.
Haye might try intimidate his opponents, or wind them up playing mind games. But he was at least honest in his apprasial of Wlad that Wlad didnt look scared. Maybe that is a ploy to get Wlad to fight not scared and get reckless and careless
