BEHIND THE SCENES IN ST. LOUIS

In my eyes, Alexander was effective and in control of most of the fight. In the early rounds, I saw him out-speeding and out-hustling Matthysse. He offered a lot of movement and it looked like Matthysse couldn’t keep up with him. While Matthysse was the aggressor, I felt that most of the work he was doing was ineffective. Then in the fourth round, Matthysse dropped Alexander and the bout became a little more give and take. Matthysse did start to find his range and land his power punches, and in the eighth round it looked like Alexander might be in trouble. But in rounds nine and ten, it appeared in my eyes that Alexander once again took control of the center of the ring and closed the show on a strong note.
I didn’t keep a scorecard, but I was left with the impression that Alexander pulled it off by a couple of rounds. It wasn’t the most polished performance and there are certainly aspects of his game that he needs to improve on. But I was very impressed with his conditioning and his ability to recover. And the heart he showed erased any doubt I might have had about his commitment to his career as a professional boxer.

See, I think you are teh gay but atleast all boxing fans can agree on that Devon Alexander is a pitter-patter womans tennis grunter who throws 90% air punches while grunting and the other 10% are Arm Punches that wouldnt KO a 5 year old kid.

Jumped on this tread to spit Venom at anyone who thought Alexander was "effective and in control" of that fight versus Mattysse.
But then noticed it was a newspaper article out of St. Louis. Figures.
Devon was getting clubbed like a baby seal and his only response was that annoying high pitched squeal of his with soft pitty pat punches. Matthysse should have Ws against Judah and Alexander and should be ranked 3rd at 140 IMO.
I agree with Alexander, but imo Judah beat Matt's..
I agree entirely.See how boxing fans can agree on things boxing??:headbang:

alexander isnt great but hes not a bum and he didnt get beat up. close fight in which he lost. why exxagerate?
He has won two fights he didn't deserve. I'm just venting dude.
no, no he didnt. geting hit is not getting beat up. he was in a fight but he did not get beat up. u guys exaggerate too much. hes not frikkin floyd mayweather.
I agree he did not get beat up,he lost the fight(imo)..It was a pretty close fight with Matt's winning maybe 1 or 2 rds more..I could see a person seeing the fight for Devon,I really wish he was not in his hometown for this tho..I could have excepted this decision if it was anywhere else, but because it was in his hometown it really burns me up tbh:firedevil..
I hope no other fighter goes to dude's backyard,we all know Devon's M.O. now..As a fighter if ya go over there and get robbed then it's ya own fault..
When it's a close fight, the hometown guy usually gets the nod. That is, after all, the advantage of being at home. The 96-93 scorecard for Alexander was a little surprising, but Alexander's win wasn't at all. Clearly, the fight could have gone either way, but Matthysse, disappointed by what he believed was the second hometown decision that has gone against him in the United States, should have finished Alexander off late when he had a chance. He let Alexander off the hook multiple times and paid for it. Matthysse, although he lost, did nothing to damage his reputation. There's no reason that both guys shouldn't be back in business in another major fight in a loaded 140-pound division.
ESPN Dan Rafael scorecard.

This dude knows nothing about boxing and if you read some of his other ESB articles its full of lulz. He has hardon for St. Luis and Philly fighters.
