Dan Rafael" "Mayweather deserves credit, he not picking on an old shot fighter...fighting young strong lion"
Freddie Roach "Can give me a blueprint on how to beat Mayweather" "Maybe we'll be fighting Victor Ortiz next... I think he Has a shot"
Saúl "Canelo" Álvarez :Ortiz beats Mayweather
Bob Arum "Good Fight, Should be Interesting"
This fight is garbage.
BS. Ortiz just won a great match with Berto. Who else is Floyd suppose to fight besides Pac or even Martinez? Atleast he's fighting someone who is someone of a threat. I expect a very good and entertaining fight.
Robert Guerrero
Floyd Mayweather’s September 17th return against Victor Ortiz…
“It’s going to be a good fight. Floyd’s a very, very intelligent fighter. He’ll adapt to anything and he’s always been in great shape. There’s not one time where you see Floyd Mayweather out of shape. Whether or not he’s been out for two years, you see him and he looks like he’s been in the gym. He’s always on his game. Victor Ortiz had a great fight with Berto, he’s coming off of his biggest win and his confidence level is real high. And that makes a fighter dangerous, when their confidence level is real high. They’re going to work hard and they are going to come and bring it. It’s going to be an exciting fight.”

nice thread!
i think Mayweather is getting better with age. Ortiz is strong but his aggressive style is going to play into Floyd's hands. If Ortiz can't find the target, and begins to slow his attack, Floyd is going to turn it up. The fight basically breaks down like this. Ortiz attacks, Floyd counters. When Ortiz is not being aggresive, Floyd will press him. Floyds jab will dominate, and after about a few rounds I can see Ortiz being beginning to look like a broken fighter. All heart he goes for broke and Floyd catches him flush coming in. Victor rises to a standing 8 count, but theres too much time left in the round and Mayweather picks him apart. 2nd KD is scored, and the fight is stopped after another flush right cross lands.
Larry Merchant
I asked Merchant simply what fight he was more interested in Mayweather-Ortiz or Pacquiao-Marquez III?
“Even though the Pacquiao-Marquez fights were very exciting and close fights, and Marquez earned his way into a third fight, I guess I find myself more curious about the Mayweather-Ortiz fight because Ortiz is a young, strong kid and I’m curious to see whether he can make a real fight out of it. Mayweather hasn’t been in a real fight in a long time.”

RON FRAZIER: "FLOYD IS COMING OFF A 16-MONTH LAYOFF...IT'S GOING TO BE INTERESTING"
By Percy Crawford | August 02, 2011
PC: You can hate him or love him, but Floyd Mayweather announcing a ring return is big news in boxing. Do you like this Victor Ortiz fight?
RF: I love this fight. It's like, "I can't get Manny Pacquiao, so what do I do? I'm not gonna fight has-beens or retreads, but I'm going to go out and get a young champion; ayoung guy who is hungry who just kinda resurrected his career in a fight where nobody thought he was going to beat Andre Berto coming in." Victor Ortiz showed a lot of heart in doing so, which a lot of people questioned if he had heart. He's a big strong dude and he's a lefty. People say Floyd has trouble with lefties, and he hits hard and again, he's young. That's a pretty interesting fight and Floyd is coming off of a 16-month layoff. Who else is out there doing that when they take time off; challenging a young hungry lion? He's not fighting retreads, he's fighting a young gun and I can't wait for the 24/7's. Obviously, love or hate Floyd, he's always entertaining and it's going to be interesting to watch.

David Rodela is already in this thread once. I liked how he kept it real with Zab and told him that Khan was faster after he sparred them both. He is currently a Pac sparring partner. In this vid he talks about the Ortiz-Pac sparring:

Wow man this is the best video ever nice video for the pactards to see
first time a trainer and boxing pros speak his minds like that because is not secret the 90% of boxing pros out there know pacquiao is on something
about floyd stance he is right but is very hard to find openings when floyd is moving and reading your moves you need a very smart fighter to create openings like that very nice trainer...
BTW make a Thread of this video now!!!
