not only his last fight was more than a year ago , witch should automatically eliminate him from the list , but his last action in the ring was scuba diving his way out of a paul williams fight . so you're telling me if cotto beats this guy he'll became " the lineal " champion according to the ring ? GTFO with that shayt...
^^and to add to that it's also because of what everyone else in the division HASN'T done.
Think about it.
Cotto is #1 by fighting Foreman & Mayorga.
Angulo hasn't fought in a long time. Alvarez best win is Rhodes. Then there are guys like Sechew Powell, Vanes Martirosyan, Pawel Wolak, Dzinziruk and Bundrage.
So basically it's a division with a lot of talent, but it's wide open at the moment because no one has really accomplished much at all (yet).
Yeah pretty much.
his win over alfredo angulo.
he was also winning on my card against williams (he could not miss with his right hand, and williams didn't do **** until just leading up to the leapfrog)
but when you jump out of the ring and refuse to get back in you lose in my book.
he's a very good fighter
he's got a big right hand and a good jab,
hes a solid athlete and counterpuncher
he's just a bit soft for a top tier pro.
the ring is probably giving him the benefit of the doubt as well because it's almost certain that capetillo loaded margarito's gloves for the second cintron fight, and likely the first.
he got put in that spot after his angulo win
