The deal was fine and not unusual at all in boxing. Malignaggi made almost 2mil to fight Hatton and 15k in his next fight; purses available to fighters decrease dramatically after each loss.
Peterson was scared. He'd rather either hide out and wait for a vacant belt to become available for less risk, or take the L with a big payday and come back later. The amount of the purse available wouldn't have mattered if he was confident of winning, because then he would be the shot-caller, but he was not so he turned the fight down.
In his two spotlights on HBO he got sonned by Bradley and then was given the gift of a draw against Ortiz. The dude is not shit and has come up short in both his attempts to step up from fighting bums.
On my cards he beat Ortiz my friend..And on the judges scorecards he won more rds..And once again he would not have been a shot caller if he won, because he would have had to fight in the UK again against Khan in a rematch and would have to take the same money..It was a crap deal no matter how ya slice it bro..
So you want him to take risk to have to take risk again if he won at the same price??Does that sound like the better deal??People on this forum love to claim professional fighters are scared to fight another professional fighter(which makes 0 sense)but it's a business and if it don't make sense you don't take the deal..Khan's deal made lil to no sense overall and you know it..No matter how ya try to spin it,it was a slave contract not beneficial to Peterson at all..
I believe Peterson was already taking risk..Going to the UK to fight 1.and risking taking another L two..Yea he was offered a tittle shot, but to have to make the same money if he won is bogus and only a dummie(imo)would have taken that deal..If I win I want nego room to possible earn more hell all those risk I deserve to be in the driver seat if I won..Like I said Khan put some B.S. in the contract was a sh!t deal bro and you know it..By the way Peterson was paid 300k to fight Bradley so 350k was no big whoop..

Peterson has beaten no one. No one. He was offered the most money he has ever been offered before, a world title shot, and (if he won) another 350k and another HBO date.
He turned it down because he knew he would loose, and wanted more money if he was going to pick up another L. Pure and simple.

Exactly right gringo
I would have turned it down as well, you know perfectly well what B.S.was in that contract don't play dumb friend..

You cant say no one wants to fight you right after turn down a world title shot. :sad6:

Bam Bam is not on Soto's level.
Bam bam has fought nothing but B, C and D level boxers.
Acosta was a B level boxer-puncher and was wrecking Rios in the first few rounds.
Imagine what a strong power-punching sharp-shooter like Soto would do to Rios.
and then all the Rios supporters would say: "Rios was still young, and it was too soon to put him in there with solid champion like Soto".
Rios needs to get through the gatekeepers and earn his right to Soto's WBC title, just like Soto had to become the #1 mandatory contender to get a shot at the WBC title.
What??? you want the #3 WBC Ranked-Rios to "cut-in-line:bottle:" in front of the WBC #2, and WBC#3 ranked contenders, and get his shot at the WBC belt???.
Rios needs to earn the right to fight for the WBC title. He shouldnt "cut in line", unless he's scared to work his way up the ladder.
Rios needs to earn his WBC "stripes".
lol your a funny guy.
Espn to the 4th prefight of a HBO telecast that won't show quality undercards. This fight was a good middle of the road test for both boxers. I honestly wish that fight would have happened on that night and the whole card would have been a PPV event. That way more money for these good undercards and a oppurtunity for me to watch quality fights. Belie e me I have paid for alot of crap undercards with the PPV being average at best.
Poor Peterson can't buy a fight..They did not try to replace the opponent so he can get some rds in??I feel bad for Peterson(imo)he is one of the best fighters fighting at the weight and I don't believe anybody wants to fight him..:sad6:Peterson..

According to Dan Rafael, due to contract issues. I was really looking forward to this matchup too...

I have both Aztec and Maya blood in me.
It still doesnt change the fact that Rios ducked Juan Diaz, John Murray though.
Bam Bam would destroy soto.Tell soto stop being a puto and fight rios.
Brandon Rios is an idiot.
Rios ducked Juan Diaz' challenge.
Diaz wanted to fight Rios, but Rios chickened-out, and instead wants to fight Soto and Miguel Acosta's leftovers (Antillon).

Rios also ducked John Murray.
Murray challenged Rios many times:
http://www.************.com/2011/02/john-murray-wants-brandon-rios-bout/
but Rios chickened-out against Murray too.
Rios only called out Soto (to fight him next in the following 2 months), after Soto just had a 12 round grueling war with Antillon, while Rios had an easy fight against a BUM named Omri Lowther.
How convenient for Rios to want to fight Soto soon, after Soto had a tough fight while Rios had an easy fight, and ducked Juan Diaz and John Murray along the way.
.
Are u mayas or what puto.
