Reasons why it would be good for FMJ to fight Cotto:
The fight would generate more PPV numbers than any fight available to FMJ outside of Pac or Martinez. More money for Money May.
Ring Magazine ranks Cotto the #1 in JMW, a division where they do not have a champion. If FMJ wins, he can proclaim himself as the man in that division. And... Cotto owns a belt.
He can prove to everyone that he is better than Pac by defeating Cotto more decisively than how Pac did it.
He can dispel the notion of some that he only wins in fantasy fights.
He will improve his ATG standing tremendously.
unless you are a cotto fan, for the sake of boxing, stop buying these 2nd rate fights!!!!!!!!!!!!!
same goes for the pacquiao fight. unless your a bradley fan, which there is only a handful, dont buy the pacquiao fight.
stop paying these two divas money to avoid each other.
Seems both the Mayweather fans and the Pacqaiuo fans have changed their minds since the Mayweather-Cotto fight was signed. :lol1:
That's what the bias people don't get. I said if either fought Cotto at 154 lbs, it's a good fight. I said if they fought Cotto at 147, it's obviously not a good fight, because Cotto is at SWW now.
But, it's funny how people do complete 180's once Floyd signs to fight someone. All I heard prior to January 2010 was that "Floyd won't fight Shane, he's too much of a risk after knocking Margarito out. Shane deserves a mega fight with Floyd or Manny. Floyd gets big credit if he beats Mosley". Floyd fought Shane in May 2010, and hardly anyone stuck to their word on that.
Before Floyd was scheduled to fight Cotto his fans discredited everything for Cotto to make Pac look bad. Now that Floyd is fighting him a lot of his fans claim it to be the best fight ever. Pathetic if you ask me.
You have to be talking about the bias fans though.
I said from day one that if Floyd or Manny fought Cotto at 154 lbs for his titles, it's a good fight. Cotto was a good fight for Manny in 2009 as well, and the 145 lbs was not the reason Cotto lost. Just like the 146 lbs was not the reason Floyd whupped Marquez.
Yea, I've seen that video.
But WADA, USADA, nor the FDA ban this drug nor is it a PED like some posters like to claim. NSAC says that fighters can't use the from the weigh-in up until the fight. I've seen people post that this is banned in 49 states, and they have given no proof of that.
And they won't give you proof
Lampley mentions it's illegal in some states, but goes a little more in depth with Floyd's hand issues back then

Would love for someone to post proof of this drug that Floyd uses that is banned in all these states expect Nevada.

Exactly what I was saying!!! This guy is flipping out about the glove size first it was floyd is scared to use small gloves because his hands are bad now it's floyd is a coward for asking for smaller gloves in a higher weight class lol!!! Then they are saying he is on drugs with no proof at all but oh heck no don't say pac is on drugs he has passed every test how dare you say that about pac you have no proof:bottle:
why would you assume its the gloves and not the opponents? Have you ever stopped to think that maybe a prime Margarito, Pac, & Clottey are way better then the guys he fought at 154? It had nothing to do with the gloves
It's obvious that you are too dense to see the difference in the effects of the punches when using an 8 oz as compared to a 10 oz gloves.
whether thats stop or not he has a excellent point unlike u who has brought nothing to the conversation
BHAHAHA you telling me im not bringing anything to the thread I needed that laugh
Really?
Cotto is not even rank among the Top Ten PFP In BoxingScene!;
If Floyd Jr wants to earn more Money and improve his legacy then he ought to fight Pacman! The Fighter of the Decade, FOTY; #1PFP; World Record Holder of the most nos. title won; His last fight has PPV higher than Mayweather jr last fight PPV!
If Floyd Jr losses to Cotto, then, perhaps he will entertain fighting Pacman!
I'm pretty sure Floyd admitted to using numbing drugs on his hands. It's illegal in every state except in Nevada I believe. And how many of Floyd's fight have been in Vegas now? I see a pattern forming.
yeah, it has nothing to do with it being the boxing mecca & taxes, right?
I can't understand why you can't see it. Check out Cotto's all three fights at JMW. He won all three by TKOs. Although his opponents were not considered A level fighters, he did it with the regular gloves required for that weight and as far as I know, he didn't suffer any serious cuts in those fights.
Compare that with his last fights at WW where they used 8 oz gloves. In his fights with Clottey, Margo and Pac, he suffered serious cuts that caused him big trouble. Even in the Clottey fight it gave him some serious problems even if he won that fight, but it was still controversial. Don't you think that Floyd will not exploit that apparent weakness of Cotto? And wouldn't it be easier for Floyd to achieve that plan by using thinner gloves?

Not if the puncher cuts easily and when he gets cut, he ceases to be the aggressor.
Btw, Floyd's brittle hands does not seem to bother him anymore. Could it be because of some kind of drug that although illegal in some states is legal in Nevada.
I know you won't answer but how come you can say floyd is on a drug without proof but when people say manny is on drugs you pac fans flip out? you have no proof so I don't understand:wtf:
What's your point? Explain please. Remember the subject is about how easily Cotto get's cut.
Alright, hold your horses.
Cotto was hit repeatedly with margos bricked hands. Do I need to elaborate on that? I understand cotto had been cut before but nothing like he suffered against margo in the first fight. And yes, cotto was cut again in the second fight but not as serious the first go around. That time thou, margo was watch with keen eyes with his hand wrappings. Too bad the rematch was stopped too early.
First ,, you started with margo. The conversation stops there.

Go watch Cotto's fights with Margo, Clottey and Pac at WW where 8 oz gloves were used. See if Cotto does not cut easy. Check out also how Cotto reacted when the cuts got serious.
Now compare those with his fights at JMW where he did not suffer serious cuts when using 10 oz gloves.
