But he still lost. Most of those shots were clean crisps scoring shots as well. If the fight was in a neutral venue zbik would have taken the decision and if it was in germany he definitely would have taken a comfortable win!!
As zbik says he needed to win clear to get the nod, its just how it goes in boxing when your on the road. USA is a very difficult place to get the decision against the hometown guy but fair play to zbik, hes not a heavy puncher but he still travelled as the belt holder to a place he knew he probably wouldnt get the decision, im not sure if its that clever of him, but he did it anyways
Chavez definitely did more damage though. If he had kept hitting Chavez with the punches he did in the first four rounds I'd agree with you, but after that a combination of poor tactical choices by Zbik (fighting head to head w/ Chavez rather than continuing the outside boxing that was working for him) and a great body attack by Chavez (Zbik is probably still peeing blood) hurt Zbik and led to him landing soft touches far too often. I think if he had kept the fight outside thereby not exposing his body so much the way he did (especially when he kept holding Jr's head which left him open) he would have clearly won.
Chavez did more damage alrite but i think he only hurt zbik on two occasions, there were some low blows in there as well and some head holding by zbik. Whatever way you look at it its hard to see zbik not getting a draw from that one. Martinez was looking on thinking, easy work against either of these two id say.
