I would say so...
I don't think most gave Margarito anything but a puncher's chance really...Margarito was bigger and stronger but he isn't a KO artist, he breaks guys down...and no way was he hitting Pac enough to do that
well, people don't expect for ortiz to outbox floyd either. puncher's chance might also be ortiz' best chance at winning

i don't think ortiz will be competetive at all. he'd be outboxed.
i thought the same on margarito but he hit pacquiao more than any other opponent if im not mistaken.
I don't think Ortiz will be competitive either really but that is a real risk because there are the unknowns like have we really seen the best of Ortiz and is Floyd going to slip.
I didn't think Margarito would be very competitive and he really wasn't outside of a couple moments. He took much more than he gave.
This is another reason why Mayweather alway outsell Pac, He alway fight fighters who are coming off impressive wins even if that fighter doesn't stand a chance against him in reality.
that, or every of his fights lately have been comeback fights

Ortiz could possibly raise his level while Floyd could possibly slip a bit because of his time away~
Manny was on top of his game at that point and Margarito looked to be on the slide.
The first looks a lot more risky than the second but whatever way you want to look at it~

as a pactard, i agree with this. i really can't hate on floyd for fighting ortiz.
lets just hope it leads to something bigger
Indeed...only thing fans have to worry about is based on Manny's close fights with JMM and Floyds lay off it's not completely out of the question that both could possibly lose and then it would be horrible. I see both winning but who knows anything could happen at this point.

Margo = End of Career , Long lay off , Came of bad beating , CW in a 26 ft ring with 8oz gloves , Slow plodding style .
Ortiz = Touching prime , Coming of biggest win , Strong at WW , Fast .Hits hard , South Paw .
Now add that Floyd is coming back after a year out .
Its not hard to figure the more competitive fight .
you flomos are blind.
This old, slow out of shape margarito u are talkin about would walk down ortiz and put him to sleep.
Don't judge margarito abilities cause he got skool by atg.
So no ortiz is definitely not more of a risk.
Fark even floyd sees this else he would nt fight .
To be honest I didn't like this fight when it was talked about a couple of months ago but it's still better than the Pac-Margarito fight in terms of competition, for me Margarito brought nothing to the table against Pac... All he brought was the size angle to sell the fight because in reality even his bigger size was a disadvantage to him.
margarito made pacquiao think twice about fighting at jr ww though
true.
but i say marg had a better chance.
pac is easier to hit. plus you don't have to go far to find him.
floyd will school ortiz. imo
ortiz-marquez March 2012

Good question, Pac took a lot of damage in that fight, his ability to withstand punishment is astonishing. I think Ortiz may be a little tricky early on and he's imo the best southpaw Mayweather has faced. I expect Mayweather to beat him comfortably though.

This, he really needs to fight Pac next.
Ortiz has no chance just like Marg. Asking who is a bigger threat is like asking do u wanna put ur dick in Bella gonzalez's mouth or cunt .... it doesn't make a difference either way
