Why do some people act like Cotto and Margarito are still viable opponents for Floyd?

I chose Cotto cause he is the guy with the best style to beat Mayweather. Floyd cant move like he used to so I would expect Cotto body shots which is where he is at his best. Ortiz is a proven quitter coming up in weight. Margarito could beat Floyd also as long as he doesnt miss a lot of punches.

Why do some people act like Cotto and Margarito are still viable opponents for Floyd?. Primarily because they are two fighters Mayweather avoided. Perhaps not as bad as he did Pacquiao but he still ducked them.

I like the Ortiz fight but I would have preferred the Cotto fight. That was THE fight a few years ago and it would still be good today. I'd also take Cotto over Ortiz today in a close fight and if Margarito ever recovers from his injury I would pick him to stop Ortiz. I'm not hating, like i said i like the Ortiz fight. I like the Ortiz fight but I would have preferred the Cotto fight. That was THE fight a few years ago and it would still be good today. I'd also take Cotto over Ortiz today in a close fight and if Margarito ever recovers from his injury I would pick him to stop Ortiz. I'm not hating, like i said i like the Ortiz fight.

i'd like to think cotto is much better than lamont peterson and marcos maidana, but why give cotto a shot at mayweather? Because he's got 2 losses of course, and you can't have that anymore these days to get a credible and lucrative fight (wait, how many losses does ortiz have again?). Would've been a better fight in 2008 when floyd went on his 1st sabbatical, but as expected ortiz' is gonna get blown up to being floyd's toughest opponent in years thus making his win a huge accomplishment for floyd. Don't get me wrong, i'm gonna watch the fight, i'm not one of these haters who wishes floyd be broke as f*ck on the streets, but i can tell a lot of his fans here are bustin nuts simply because he's fighting again. lmbo nice..

Believe it or not I've seen many posts from people saying they're still interested in a Cotto fight and even Marg at this stage:lol1::lol1: Of course if Floyd signed to fight them they would've been called damaged and shot, which they are. There not viable opponents, and most boxing fans know that Mayweather would beat the **** out of Cotto. I'm a huge Cotto fan, and it's probably the only fighter I like better than Mayweather, but seriously Mayweather would beat him probably worse than he will Victor. And Margarito is not competition for Floyd anymore, the only chance Margarito had at beating Floyd Mayweather was when he had the BRICKS in his gloves, now that's gone.

They are living in the past where Cotto and Margarito were really hyped up to beat Mayweather. They have forgotten Cotto was brutalized by Margarito and Pacquiao. And Margarito was demolished by Mosley and Pacquiao. They will just call them Pacquiao's leftovers. Like we Floyd fans are calling Mosly, Hatton, DLH, Mayweather's leftovers.

I can't see Cotto being competitive against elite guys anymore. Dude hasn't been the same since Marg. Sadly I agree. But he's still a good world class fighter.
