Floyd fans are wetting their pants over this, which I find strange because if Floyd isnt affected by the lay off, this will be a worse and more humiliating beatdown than the Gatti fight.
Its an ok fight, but close or competitive? you think so?
He dominates Ortiz SLIGHTLY more than he would Pac. I see it being about 10-2 with Ortiz keeping Floyd on his full focus the entire 12 since he will never quit..

No, Ortiz will KO Gayweather in round one.:boxing:
i dunno Clyde...a southpaw with handspeed that's on a roll vs a fighter with 16months of ring rust?
it will be a fun 4-5 rounds until Floyd figures him out
People are getting caught up in the euphoria of Ortiz regaining his credibility and winning a title belt. I like Ortiz, but he's in over his head here mate. Even at 75% of himself, PBF is far too good for Ortiz. No stoppage, but PBF easily takes him apart.
Not at all. PBF dusts him. I was happy as hell to see Ortiz rip Berto's belt from his hands, but he has no chance against the likes of PBF. This is just a tuneup fight for PBF after his layoff.
what I dont get is why flomo's are championing this as a great fight when none of the little fukkers think its gonna be competitive. Thats fukkin nuts!
Yup your right about that, Ortiz likes to come straight in similar to Rick Hatton but just a little more aggressive
The difference is Hatton is 5 foot 4 inch Ortiz 5 foot 9 inch, Hatton 140 pounds 150 at fight night Ortiz 147 and 165 at fight time. Hatton Jr welter wieght punch feather fisted at 147 Ortiz Ko power at 147. Ortiz southpaw which shoulder roll isn't as effective. Hatton problem was his reach his short little arms are that of a fly wieght. Yet it was a draw afer 6 rounds. Hatton gave Floyd fits for 7 rounds while Ortiz would ko Hatton in 2 rounds.
I don't think so.
I acknowledge Floyd as the greatest fighter and leaps and bounds ahead of the rest. No matter who he fights, I don't see it being competitive and that includes Pacquiao.
Many Pacquiao fans will not acknowledge Floyd as the best, yet will criticize every one of his opponents by saying that they have no chance... Think about what you're saying guys. If nobody stands a chance, then that is because he is the best. If you think Pacquiao can him... That's probably because you're a die hard fan.
If they fight, Manny will be the under dog. He will lose a UD. Don't bet big on your hero.
good post i agree 100%
5. Peterson troubled Mayweather in sparring, and Peterson got a gift draw against a drained Ortiz.
.
This should be the dictionary definition of reaching....
I'm in agreement with the majority of the posters on here. In that it may be competitive during the first few rounds but after that Floyd takes over. When Floyd fought Judah and Corley years ago those two southpaws did have a little success early in the fight. I can see how an aggressive southpaw like Ortiz could do the same.
But after that it should be a clinic.
I think this fight is gonna be more competiyive than people think. Ortiz has all the tools to make this competitive, and the youth and power to make it interesting.
I don't think this is gonna be as easy of a fight for Floyd as people think. Berto is nowhere in Floyds league but I don't think Floyd has the power to hurt Ortiz the way Berto did, and Victor looks very strong at 147.
Floyd will be favored but I think this will be more competitive than people think.
It will be floyd's hardest fight for several reasons.
1. Ortiz is a stronger southpaw than Judah.
2. Ortiz will be as big as the Oscar that Mayweather faught, but with better leg speed and stamina.
3. Ortiz moves his head a lot. He might leave his left hand down, but he slips and weaves punches like the southpaw Judah did which troubled Mayweather early on.
4. Ortiz knows how to cut the ring pretty damn good, and is good at phone booth fighting, but he's gonna be too big to pot shot.
5. Peterson troubled Mayweather in sparring, and Peterson got a gift draw against a drained Ortiz.
6. Ortiz had the power to knock Maidana down 3 times which not even Khan couldn't do in a matter of 12 rounds after throwing 700+ punches.
7. Mayweather's shoulder roll defense is not very affective against southpaws.
8. Floyd hasn't been the older fighter in the ring for a long time. He's usually the younger lion, but the scripts have flipped.
Pac vs Floyd is a much more competitive fight and is a pick em fight. Manny aint my hero either, but I understand fully that even the slightest criticism of Floyd will have you branded as a Pactard by Flomo's in this forum, even if it aint the case. It will probably always be that way too. Sad,very sad.
I don't see how it's a pick 'em fight at this point. Pacquiao has phenomenal endurance and stamina. He seems to be able to fight 12 rounds without getting winded. Aside from that, his skills are not that impressive. Take away that stamina and what do you have?
Who knows, maybe after doing OST that stamina won't be there anymore...
As soon as Floyd makes the right adjustments it's target practice.
Yup your right about that, Ortiz likes to come straight in similar to Rick Hatton but just a little more aggressive
I'm pulling for the upset.2 hooks like what dropped Berto in round 6 & Floyd will have a fight on his hand. Also I'm going for Ortiz simply because I don't like Floyd.I wouldn't bet a dime on Ortiz though.
