What do you care what a pack of fans think about their favorite fighter? If you're a Floyd fan, what makes you any different than them when boasting Floyd? Ortiz is a good fight for Floyd, but as you may paint the imperfections of Pacquiao's opponents, are people not supposed to do that with Floyd's opponents in the same fashion? Especially someone like Vic Ortiz who's got a history of quitting and drawing against a much less skilled fighter than Floyd? Actually, it was the other way around. He was shot with no heart, couldn't beat middle of the pack JWWs and was ranked only #7 in the division, beat the grossly overrated Berto then magically became a 'threat' to guys like Pacquiao and Floyd somehow. I've maintained since that night and the overrating began that Ortiz is a B fighter and has no business in the ring against those guys. This is pretty much how I feel about it..

Whoever fights Martinez first between Pac and Mayweather wins the gold in my eyes. I will give whoever steps up first all the props in the world. Quote me if you want. Oh please. Sergio has 3 wins, 1 loss and one draw against good, not great, fighters during the period which ALL of his status is built upon. Both guys are good, neither has REALLY proven themselves IMO. I'm glad Floyd's coming back, and it's a good fight, but don't try and sell Ortiz as some kind of monster after giving 0 credit to Pac for beating Cotto, Hatton etc.

Ortiz is nothing special. But he is YOUNG, a great fighter with nothing to lose and everything to gain. As in any sport, its always impressive to see the old schooling the young, just like with Pascal vs Hopkins.

fighters are always hyped up after a big fight just like ortiz was. he hasnt really shown much other than the berto win. but that being said im looking forward more to floyd/ortiz than pac/jmm. i wouldve rather seen pac fight ortiz.
