What a fukkin cunt!
Berto and his team need to wake the fuq up. The reason he lost was because he is a 4 round fighter. The only way he gets to the 12th round is if he runs.
What Hopkins said about Pascal is also true of Berto, these guys are surrounded by yes men who never tell their fighter the truth. I guess berto isn't a naturally confident guy, that's why his team has to lie to him to give him confidence.
The best thing Berto can do is admit that he has flaws in him game and come up with strategies to correct those flaws or atleast conceal them so it can't be used against him.
Why is Berto talking? He has no fans, He cant sell any tickets, cant sell any PPV. He was known as a overpriced Al-Hymon fighter ( who uses blackmail to get HBO to pay $$$). He was losing HBO tons of cash.
Its not like he was an amazing action fighter who fought everyone and was pulling in thousands of fans.
Fear not, Al-Hymon will black mail HBO into giving Bertha more fights.
Dude giving Larry Merchant Boxing tips, funny dude. Like telling Michael Schumacher how to drive a car.
You can tell what kind of fighter you are by your first loss, the whole world knows how Bertha handles loses. Like a biatch, blaming everyone but himself.
I don't even know what possessed Berto to come out with these excuses. The dude wanted so badly to be accepted, and after he digs down and puts in a good effort, turns around and starts acting like a douche.
either way, berto is just making excuses...
he needs to address the part about him gassing and being a 5 round fighter.
Im not sure about all that he did come on strong against Collazo in the 11th and 12th rounds of a very tough fight.
Berto blamed himself for allowing other people words to get the best for him.He never blamed Merchant. He said something along the lines of" THe desire of people to see him brawl is what made him brawl.

I'd have to watch it again, but I don't really remember him brawling except when pressed into it by Ortiz
Thats because he didnt Ortiz made him fight by bringing it to him. He obviously thought he couldnt lose to Ortiz and is now trying to explain the loss to himself.

Berto needs to realize he just got beat and stfu.
" lols Berto blames Merchant for losing to Ortiz"

You know, it's just been kind of tough for me to deal with to a point, just getting the cricism that I was getting for winning fights, and I just didn't understand why.
And then it got to a point where, when were in the fighters' meeting, before the Victor Ortiz fight, me and Larry Merchant were going back and forth.
Because he was basically upset that I'm not getting into these brawls. In my last fight before Ortiz, I knocked the guy out in the first round.
I've won other fights by knockout, but I guess that he just wanted to see me in these brawls. And I'm looking at him, and I'm like, 'Why would you want me to go into these types of fights?'
I'm like, 'I understand that you're a fan of the game, and that you're a commentator and you've been around for a long time.' But I'm like, 'If you understand the game, it's hit and not get hit.'
You try to go in there and handle your business and try to get out of the ring like, unharmed if possible. I'm like, 'Why do you want me to just go in there and stand in there and risk getting my head beat in?'
basically he's saying that he fought the way he did because of merchant, and those people like him and he doesn't put any of the blame on himself or his team.
