Timothy Bradley reveals why he didn't take the Khan offer

How can you possibly accuse him of ducking when Shaw is clearly trying to trap him? "It was just basically my promoter has a deadline till June 30th to get me a fight and that's pretty much what I'm holding onto. I didn't put that in the contract; they're the ones who put it in the contract. June 30th is the date that I was supposed to be fighting and they're not delivering. ... So I'm just standing by my guns and saying, 'Hey, you guys gotta deliver by June 30th; I'm ready to go.' July 23rd is out of my contract. So that's pretty much in a nutshell why I'm not taking the fight at this moment." Basically, he wanted to fight Khan in June so it's still in his contract, and he could be free to do whatever he wants afterwards. July 23rd is out of that range, meaning he'd have to be Shaw's slave for another few years and get zero promotion. Even Schaefer himself said Bradley isnt ducking Khan! Arum just stated a few days ago that he is interested in signing Bradley because he sees him as a future attraction. Top Rank happens to be the only one without a good JWW, with Benavidez being far too young, so you can expect to see them working together soon.

Most likely was Bradley talking before he talked to his promoter(which I believe he said in the interview)and putting his foot in his mouth..But Bradley talking about a contract is totally different and like I said if Bradley would have fought Khan on the 23rd,it would have meant an extension.. Are you trying to say he didnt know when his contract ran out? I really dont get what ur saying here. You have so many excuses, its hard to keep up.

I don't understand why he didn't say this from the start. He would have prevented all this bashing from fans. 1. Trying to build up the Bradley brand 2. What if I lose to Khan i'll be out of the May-Pac sweepstakes 3. It was money issues All of this, just to make himself look stupid. He could have just said I want my June 30th fight, Khan fight is in July 23rd, that means i'll have to stay with Shaw and be out of the Pacquiao fight. And most sensible posters would have understood it this way. But man, all this Bradley brand bullshit, what if Khan beats me, he just made himself look like a total ass.

Bradley is actually very smart here, he will go to top rank and get a nice bonus. Get away from shaw who is a complete dirtbag. And he cam still fight Amir khan down the line or even pacman. There is zero reason for anyone to knock this move, it was the right move.

Valid Reason, if Bradley signs to fight in July under Shaw then that means there's a contractual extension, he obviously doesn't want to stay with Shaw, I got a feeling he's gonna sign with Top Rank and fight Khan, then Berto or Ortiz, and if he beats them he'll fight Manny Pacquiao soon. Shaw won't get Bradley to Pacquiao, Arum CAN!, at the end of the day it's business, you don't train 8 weeks in camps, and jump in to fight for your family to eat, so don't knock the man for making business moves that make sense to him

Bradley:Although paid well would have been out of a contract with HBO and would not be in a good position to make(a lucrative)a deal with a Major promotion company.. Khan:would be right back on the airwaves because he has a multi fight deal with HBO and GBP..And would be in line for a tittle shot of some sort because of who he is promoted by...

Especially when he is about to become a Free Agent No different then asking "WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF I GET INTO A CAR ACCIDENT AND I DON'T HAVE INSURANCE", you can drive around safe as possible and try your best to avoid it from happening but it is still no guarantee that you Won't CRASH...ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN Arum is mentioning his name as a possible opponent to fight Pacquiao next...so Bradley is actually in the DRIVER SEAT by just sitting back and letting the contract RUN UP...who cares about a few fans talking sh!t and calling him a "DUCKER", some of todays boxing fans are not very smart anyway and most of them are FRONT RUNNERS (especially the Casual Fans) Not like he is saying "I NEVER WANT TO FIGHT KHAN", clearly he just want to get away from Gary Shaw BEFORE FIGHTING HIM

thats an excuse at the end of the day. fighters should be fighting the best possible and its as simple as that. why would you not want to unify your division from a sporting point of view? as a boxing fan id much rather a fighter took on the best rather than what it means for his bank account.

If Bradley contract said he fights on June 30 then him fighting Khan on July 23 would mean a contract extention..Shaw is a not telling the truth.. Bradley knew this yet still called out Khan for July 23rd? Bradley was not telling the truth.
