Floyd started a new trend. Pretty soon whining, excuse making, and accusing people without evidence will be considered "gangsta" in the American inner cities
I knew Berto was in trouble from from the git...told everyone to put their money on Ortiz... From the first time I saw Ortiz I knew that kid was special. He had something to prove too and yes he was too big for 140
This is something i can agree with you on. He was clearly struggling to even get to 140, which is why he had a few fights at 142-43. He looked pale at weigh ins. A guy who rehydrates to 161 after weighing in at 147 is most def going to srtuggle getting to 140. In the Berto fight his lats, shoulders and arms looked very big.
Honestly, there's more weight to his accusations than Floyd's on Pac. I'm surprised that there wasn't more talk about this in this forum considering Ortiz was pretty much the same size as Maidana in 09' and Campbell in 10'
Ortiz was much bigger than Campbell and Maidana, don't know where your coming with this.
stupid pinoy.... dont you realize that if ortiz is on peds like you think he is than that means pacquiao is on the same fuken shi* cuz he hasnt gotten caught with it..
wtf going by yr logic ortiz must be p4p best aswell then :pat:
What new trend? Since when did Floyd lose then accuse his opponent of using PEDs as to why he lost. None of that has happened so I'm not seeing it. Floyd is making his demands before he steps in the ring, Berto didn't do that. Berto needs to move forward.
what r u a fuking retard?
what difference does it make before or after. :bottle:

It wasn't one sided, u are correct, but quitting is a No-No(nothing special about that) and until he avenges his loss to Maidana, he's always gonna have that cloud hanging over his head.
duran quit once.
a lot of fighters quit too just not like victor did.
most quit pretending they can't see or playing dumb when the refs ask them questions or telling their corner something to make them throw the towel.
Ortiz isn't any better now than he was the night he fought Maidana. Maybe a bit more mentally determined, but technique-wise he's the same guy, he still makes the same mistakes, he's very easy to hit when he gets aggressive.
He'll give some entertaining fights but I think tough brawlers will always give him problems. Other than Pac and Floyd I don't think much of 147 so maybe he'll keep the belt for a while.
he's like a bigger , stronger cotto then.
he was kicking maidana's ass too. let's not pretend it was a one sided beating or something.
ortiz wouldn't be the 1st guy to get excited and blow his load too quick. which is what it seemed like to me watching the fight.
peterson he was whooping as well even though he fought a stupid game plan.
if you want to criticize ortiz , i'd say go with his boxing iq and dumb fight plans. the boy has some skills.

Chalk it up to experience and I think he is better suited at this weight class. The kid is a good fighter.. The Berto fight will do wonders for his confidence as well... I see good things from him.....
He'll probably get better, its not like he doesn't have the skills, but its his heart that I and everyone will question for a long time......1 fight won't give you that answer.
1. he's fighting at staples center. his hometown. probably had a lot of friends/family there.
2. he was headlining as a hbo main event. iirc first time he was a main event on hbo. they definitely were promoting him heavily with his story and stuff.
3. it was his 1st world title shot in his career.
add to that he drops maidana. he got careless and tried to put him away. he ended up fighting maidana's fight.
Pressure is a biatch... handling it is what separates the men from the boys.. I think Victor has grown up from those experiences. Some of the greatest fighters we will never see because they couldn't handle the pressure outside the gym.. However, his big dreams will lead him to big fights with more knee shaking atmospheres, bigger pressure.. We have yet to see if he can handle that... Skills and talent, he is not lacking though to be a great fighter. If You ever wondered why Floyd has been such a slow starter namely against Zab and Mosley... It is pressure, but some fighters rise above it... Pac has no pressure from the start.

ortiz got *****slapped by maidana and drew with peterson....i dont wanna hear how "special" he is, he's a b level fighter who beat another b level fighter and they should rematch each other to see who's the B+ fighter........until he gets in the ring with a top dog @147 and beats them, i dont wanna hear nada about ortiz being a special guy......
