I think a prime Marg gives Floyd a battle but I don't see him winning. Tony would've kept coming but I see Floyd moving around the ring and tagging Marg all night. Plus Tony needs an accumulation of punches to hurt his opponent, he's not a 1 punch KO guy. I don't see him being able to land enough shots on Floyd to stop him.

He doesn't....Floyd would potshot and counter-all night. Easy UD....
He made him fold by...just standing there. :lol1:. F*cking Clottey, man.
That lose is one of the most terrible I have ever seen, I don't know how you can watch that fight and think anything special of Clottey after.
If a guy lost because of some technical issue ok maybe a youngster can get that fixed through some real hard work but if a guy loses because he in mentally soft that can never be fixed.
Baldomir was fouling also along with standing there, it worked out he won like on some pro wrestling shit but he did get Clottey to DQ himself which is a way to win all be it probably the cheapest of victories.
Still he made him mentally fold, he got DQ'd in a fight he was killing in that is pretty much inexcusable. A big red flag when looking at how strong a guy is mentally. Out of all Clottey's loses that one rings the most true as him, finding a way to lose a fight he should win.
Margarito is a good fighter I just don't see that much difference other than hype and getting pushed properly (after a certain point).

Ive been trying to figure out the answer to this question for 6 years now.
He was extrenely TOO slow on his feet and with his hands to be anything more than target practice.
I hear you, bud but Margarito wasn't that slow in the mid-decade of the 200's. He was pretty nifty with the hands and feet then.
Baldomir was getting his a** kicked a lot harder by Clottey. Margarito, coming off only one round in nearly two years, fared much better. Margarito beat a lot of top welters in the 2000's, while Baldomir was a flash in the pan. Margarito's win over Six Heads was pretty impressive. He was the first to bring the beeyotch out of Cintron. Guys like Danny Perez are unknown on here but he was a very good fighter in his prime who Margarito fought twice. A prime Margarito is very underrated, methinks. He would've beaten every welter not named Floyd from 2003-2007.

would have been as BRUTAL AS THE Gatti fight
Mayweather against a SLOW, Flat Footed Fighter...would have been a BOXING CLINIC, a very EASY UD for Mayweather and you really don't have to be a Mayweather fan to know that..most fans know that but they just hate Mayweather and they using the "HE DUCKED Margarito" as a way to make Mayweather fans upset I guess
but Margarito even in his PRIME would have gotten DESTROYED and I don't think Cotto would have much of a chance either, Cotto was Ring Side during Mayweather vs Gatti fight if I am not mistaken
Margarito breaks you down like he's chopping down a tree. In his destructions over Kermit Cintron it took a number of punches to stop him, it was the same way with Miguel Cotto. I think Floyd has a solid enough chin that 1 or 2 punches wouldn't put him down. I think Tony would need to land a lot but I don't see Floyd allowing him to do so.

Baldomir and Margarito are like the same guy~ with a bit different attributes that made them good fighters but the difference between them is negligible~
Both made Clottey mentally collapse~ both beat a lot of decent fighters ~ both beat a guy that people thought was hot shit at the time~ both got exposed by better fighters~ sounds very similar to me aside fromt eh fact Baldomir worked his ass off and deserves respect while Margarito is a cheater who really deserves nothing from the boxing public~

It's like comparing sh1t to piss. Baldo was sh1t. Marg is piss.
Marg didn't beat anybody at ww of any significance before cotto. F-ckin talking about I don't have been watching ww in the last 10 years. You dudes are a trip.
God I f-ck hate marg. I don't hate fighters but hate marg. Dude wasn't good at all. And was hype up to be some feared man. Him and f-ckIn straight garbage. maindana
Completely ridiculous. Margarito was one of the best welterweights of the 2000s.
Marg might have been "garbage" but still levels above Baldomir.
You should have really been paying attention to the WW class for the last 10 years.
Baldo couldn't hold Marg jockstrap.

1. Margs does not beat floyd at any time of their careers
2. For those who dont think marg is on the same level as Baldy i have to disagree with you. If they werent on the same level then marg was only a hair above him.
3. It would not look like the castillo fight. Why? Marg was never as good as castillo. Bigger? yes but not better.
4. Marg was and still is 1 level above a club fighter. Peolpe try to prop him up cause he beat cotto but that doesnt say much to me. Hes a guy that got hype by beatin an overhyped fighter. Basically he has always got more credit then he deserved. If you dont understand what i mean i will give an example.
Kelly Pavlik. Hes another guy thats not really that good but got hype cause he be an overhyped fighter in Jermain Taylor. Thats why hokpins and sergio beating him didnt mean much to me because he just wasnt that good. I never rated Cotto very highly and I still dont.
i don't think margo has enough power to give floyd problems, he breaks opponents down with pressure, and floyds speed would be to much for margo. floyd would hurt margo imo
