Timothy Bradley speaks out on why he decided to reject the Amir Khan fight deal at this stage of his career and also talks about the troubling situation with his promoter Gary Shaw.
Some quotes from Timothy Bradley:
"(laughter) You better stop playing with me, ain't nobody scared of no dang Amir Khan, man. You know this boxing game is a business, man"
"Well I'm looking at doing it maybe the end of the year or probably next year. I still think the fight is too premature."
"A lot of people say it's great money. Man, at the end of the day it's still really risky. At the end of the day, let's say I lose the fight, what happens then? I'm out of the sweepstakes with Mayweather or Manny Pacquiao" (streamlined quote)
Fast forward to today and here is Bradley:

Great business move....
End Thread..
Yes I agree, if Khan said "What if I lose" to Alexander, which I think he did, then that is also a duck.
Bradley ducked Khan, Khan ducked Alexander.
Yup, we'll call it a day at this. (But there are those that insist Khan didn't duck Devon while saying Bradley ducked Khan). All this mind you knowing what we know about both fighters right now. That being Bradley is clearly a better fighter.
Nice. Kev has come back and as a improved poster since his last banishment.
Either that or I must've been only paying attention to your silly Lounge banter.
I actually came back, and then you immediately got banned. I witnessed your 10 day ban right before my eyes actually. I bet Bringer's ban note for you was "Two legends can not grace Boxingscene at the same time, come back in 10 days, bro."
We had a lengthily conversation through PM, he explained how if he brings me back from the dead, another legend has to go for 10 days. I said fine, but I didn't know it would be you.
Of course he made the right call for himself, of course I would have done the same exact thing. You know what I wouldn't do "doe"? Make excuses like some are making in this thread. Fact is he ducked Khan, no excuses can be pulled out from heaven to twist that. The man himself admit he ducked Khan and I respect him for telling the truth. Khan would be doing the same exact thing NOW, he called out Alexander (Even though people said he doesn't deserve the fight), now he is getting cold feet because he wants to take the Bradley route... One thing I wouldn't do is make excuse for what Khan did even "doe" am glad he ducked Alexander.
Fair enough if you want to use the word "duck" in the most literal, myopic way possible. It's not like real life situations are complex or anything. Best that we just reduce a nuanced situation to one word, huh. Heaven forbid we actually consider circumstances.
The thread is about ducking. IMO Khan didn't duck Alexander and Bradley didn't duck Khan because they were in pursuit of bigger, more lucrative fights. I guess we just have different definitions.
Sorry they are both ducks in my book. No excuses... "If I lose" hmmm.
He's right though... any reasonable person in his position would have made the same choice he did. It's called risk assessment.
If you're leaving a job and have your sights on a better one, would you take an incredibly risky assignment that could make or break your career before lining up your next place of employment?
Why would Bradley take the riskiest fight of his career at a time when he had no promotional backing? He would put himself entirely in the hands of a rival promoter, he would have been Khan's "opponent." That's a horrendously stupid position to put yourself in, especially in a sport where the A-side guy gets almost every single advantage you can think of in a fight.
Bradley made the right call, it's amazing that people are still holding this against him. This is a two and a half year old thread. Who even cares anymore?

Of course but that's irrelevant for this thread.

Irrelevant, he ducked Khan. " if I lose"
