Great action in that fight. Mathysse landed like 3 left hooks in a row in there even though he was almost out on his feet yet Williams took them easy :lol1:
I dont know how people could watch that fight and actually believe Williams would be great in all these divisions. You can tell from then, he was a KO waiting to happen.
Give me a "KO waiting to happen" rather than a KO. Referring to Khan vs Prescott.
DAMN how did I forget the action in this fight in the early rounds. A real sign of things to come against Martinez... another Argentinean fighter oddly. Matthysse was so tired, but his slow-ass punches were still easily connecting. A good win for Paul, but man was he getting tagged alot by a C level fighter.
As another poster said, he needs to hire Manny Steward or another trainer that can teach him to fight tall.
Man that Cintron knockout was terrible. I think Walter is retired now.
It's crazy how a weak mental game can turn a fighter with that much talent into a laughing stock.
lol I remember that fight also, it is actually pathetic that Williams defense hasn't improved AT ALL since then and he never really learned how to really use that size/reach advantage
I always thought Emmanuel Steward would be the perfect trainer for him a guy that has a TON OF EXPERIENCE with TALLER/LONG FIGHTERS
but one thing about Williams, once he figures you out and find his rhythm in a fight...he can be flat out UNSTOPPABLE, but I would like to see A LITTLE MORE DEFENSE and/or at least a little more head movement
