wasnt it the biggest size differace in history??99 pound differance and bout 10 inches???thats amazing
because he ran like a chicken the whole fight , and also because valuev is joke who lost to a 6"1 ruslan chagaev and a 46 years old holyfield
and frankly , valuev won on my scorecard
Of course size is a factor in boxing but Valuev is so big and heavy that it is no advantage even more, i think its an disadvantage because he has zero athletic ability and is verry slow. And he couldnt use his height and reach advantage well. And besides that you would expect a huge man like him punch much harder than he actually did. Compared to his size he was feather fisted.
Valuev is horrible, I mean really really sucks. As boring and unimpressive either were, Holyfield to me clearly beat Valuev and he did it by only throwing 10-12 punches per round.
lol i remember the first time i saw julius long on a card
i was like DAMN! homie has a 90 inch reach! he's gonna be a beast
aaaaaand then i actually saw him fight...
Bwhahahahaha, aint that the truth!
Because Value only looked like a beast but he was slow and not even a good fighter.
Even Evander Holyfield beat that guy's ass but was robbed in Germany.
Lots of people have beaten Julius Long. So what?

I think Tommy Loughran's fight against Carnera was much the same, although Loughran put up a much better opposition. Carnera was a lot better than Valuev also, and won the fight Loughran was a very great fighter, you should look him up. I'm writing all this from memory and although I think the difference in weight was a bit less, proportionately it was much the same even greater, since Loughran was a lightheavyweight. The story has always been that Carnera beat him by "stepping on his toes".
Valuev can barely move, his huge size is really his handicap. He does everything in slow motion, and Haye gave a perfect depiction of a guy who was afraid, and just looked for the opportunity to get in and get out quickly, even though Valuev was far too slow to catch him anyway.
It's also a HUGE mark against him that he threw the fewest punches of any heavyweight fight ever. And landed far, far less. He was very much afraid, and Valuev was "jobbed" as Haye did nothing to show he'd legitimately beaten the champion.
And his "fights" since then have shown about the same level of-I won't say incompetence-
interest and quality. far too much has been made of Haye being the cruiserweight champ. I don't recall if he even defended it. As a heavyweight he's a nothing except a mouth. He certainly does not back up what he talks up.
haye had 3 Cw titles with good wins vs bell & mormeck.harrison is a former gold medalist & eurorean champ.yes he underachieved but still not a complete failure.he beat monte barrett at the beginning of barretts decline.he beat 2 FORMER WORLD CHAMPIONS in ruiz & valuev...THOSE 4 WINS AT HEAVYWEIGHT CAME AGAINST COMPETITION WITH 23 WORLD TITLE FIGHTS BETWEEN THEM....he wasnt beating cans...
Audley Harrison at 39 years old, I'm pretty sure that he was past his prime.
John Ruiz 38 years old way past his prime and who already had lost against Valuev, Chagaev, etc...
Monte Barret 37 years old, past his prime who lost 3 fights in a row between 2005 and 2007 and that from 2008 to 2011 hasn't won a single fight.
Valuev, the Russian Giant, the guy who was avoiding both Klitschkos and was forced to fight Haye because he rejected the challenge from Wladimir and had to defend his title against a decent contender. He used to fight bad opposition, was outboxed by an old Holyfield and should've lost that fight, lost before to Chagaev (who Wlad completely destroyed) ...
Amazing boxers...

Because size alone doesn't make Valuev good. It was a boring fight notable only for Haye capturing a title belt. He gets the proper amount of credit for the win in that context. A decent win, no more no less.
The only way of beating Valuev is to make it an uneventful fight.
Few people can beat Valuev, it takes a lot of movement, could Chris Arreola or David Tua move like Haye/Holyfield did?. And Yes Holyfield was 46 but he could still move.
Plus a lot of people just don't like Haye
people that dont give him credit are the same people who said that said he couldn't do it

Because Chagaev, Holyfield, Bidenko, Donald all put on more impressive performances against a better version of Valuev and Haye averaged 12 punches per round and fought like a
b1tch.
If the only way to try and make a win seem impressive is 'well, the other guy was bigger' then it isn't a great win, whether it's Pac-Marg, Floyd-Baldomir or Haye-Yeti.
People throw around the word great way to much~
