Who you think would of won this fight?
I think Corrales was the more skilled fighter who would of put some rounds in the bank before going to war with Gatti.
Man this is a dream fight!
The left hooks that Mayweather dropped Corrales with were ridiculously fast and also fairly short. Mayweather throws a nice, technically sound left hook. The Castillo left hook that took him out was also short...much shorter than the wide hooks that Gatti threw.
Corrales would beat Gatti to the punch because his shots were shorter and travelled less distance. If it becomes an inside fight, Chico eats Gatti alive since his inside skills were so much better and more refined.
Gatti's best chance in to fight Corrales the way he fought Patterson, or land an unlikely left hook, preferrably at mid-range (a la Rodriguez).
For me it depends on how much Gatti could land that left hook. If he could land it enough, well that would be a deal changer and I predict Gatti by KO. If Not, I see Corrales cutting Gatti up and either stopping him late or winning a decision.
It wouldn't end in knockout. Corralled would win a decision. These dudes had too much heart for it not to go the distance.
Heart can only get you so far when you get hit so much by a big puncher, or your face turns to mush.
Corrales would beat him.
He was a better fighter and his shots were way more short and crisp. Gatti could try to box and use the ring, but he would get hit with Corrales's quick straight right hand, and most likely go to war.
Corrales would consistently beat him to the punch because his punches were shorter and traveled less distance, while Gatti's shots were more winging.
Gatti might score a KD or hurt Chico at some point, but Corrales wins.
Corrales would murder Gatti.
Gatti would have some success boxing but he would not be able to keep Corrales off him like that and would eat more and more as the fight wore on. Corrales just has to many advantages for Gatti to really trouble him although it would be a pretty good action fight while it lasted.
the great thing is thet nobody is talking trash about either fighter.
thats cuz both were the kind of guy thet gave us everything they had and asked for nothing in return. it would be a great fight and the biggest winner would've been the fans. these are my 2 all time favorite fighter cuz the way they left everything they had in the ring everytime they steped into it.
They my all time favorite fighters to. And neither of them ducked nobody.

I think this could turn out like Gatti against Manfredy. Corrales is tall, punched with power and knew how to get leverage especially when his opponent was squared up. Gatti was a decent boxer when he wanted to be but Corrales wasn't necessarily bad at cutting off the ring (minus against Floyd but Floyd was at his peak). He was able to catch up to Freitas and Gatti was easily lured into shootouts. Thats bad news.
good point about corrales and freites, thats why i thought they would go to war later on in the fight but corrales didnt fight anything like manfredy and even if he did gatti was catching up to manfredy when they stopped the fight due to that horrible cut so i dont think it would look much like gatti manfredy. i think it would look more like corrales freites but gatti wouldnt quit. so in the early rounds i think it would be an ok boxing exhibition (not great) by gatti but later i think corrales would make it a toe to toe battle which is something gatti was always wanting to do and both guys were pretty good at that kind of fight with a not so good defense so down the stretch it would be a slug fest and i give gatti a slight edge there mainly cuz his body work. but corrales was definatly the crisper puncher so it would be a real great fight

corrales vs freites should give you a hint of how this fight would go but gatti wouldnt give up. freites had an almost identacle boxing style to gatti but he wouldnt dig in and fight like gatti when it got tough.
i think gatti would outbox him in the early rounds but by rounds 8 or 9 they would go to war and from there its anybodys fight but i would be leaning towards gatti by late stoppage
Corrales was an inside fighter no matter his range or skills while Gatti was a good boxer puncher no matter his lack of range or skills. Corrales was the chinnier guy and more vulnerable to one punch ending it. I see Gatti winning and that still not meaning that Diego wasn't better. Bad style for him.
Though, I'm rating this as Diego vs 140 Gatti and just realized this could be other weights. Corrales murders him below 140. 130/135, it's just a brawl with Gatti having the lesser power.
If was thinking 135 would of been the ideal weight for them. I don't think Corrales ever had a meaningful fight at 140.
