Leonard moved up to fight Lalonde and Duran moved up to take on challengers such as Hagler and Barkley. This is why neither Floyd nor Manny are even close to their level. Yet so many Pac fans want to argue that he is the GOAT LMAO! I don't really see Floyd fans saying he's better than guys like Leonard and Duran who are certified ATG's. If either Leonard or Duran had the opportunity to fight Martinez best believe they'd take it.
Uh...it don't matter what it took for Ray Leonard to fight Hagler, Hearns or Donny Lalonde...THE POINT IS THAT HE FOUGHT THEM! Not only did he fight them but HE BEAT ALL OF THEM (sure many of them was controversial decisions I won't deny that)
but with all of yall B!TCHING ABOUT CATCH WEIGHTS, you all forget one MAJOR FACTOR, nobody force these fighters to accept these fights at a Catchweight, that is somebody BOTH fighters have to agree upon
Say what you want about Sugar Ray Leonard, but his LEGACY is already SET, it won't change now because a few people on a forum googled some sh!t and now they think they have ALL THE ANSWERS to Ray Leonard's career
Ray Leonard was a LEGEND...YOU CAN'T CHANGE THAT! I was a bigger fan of Hagler and Hearns as well but I would be stupid for me to try and deny
Leonard's GREATNESS!
Sergio is willing to come down to 154...you fought for his 154 title against Margarito...so you opened that possibility for that fight when you fought for a Title that HE VACATED, if Pacquiao never fought at 150-154 then yes then Sergio would be considered a "BULLY" because usually when guys issues
Challenge it is usually within the same weight class or a weight class UP NOT A WEIGHT CLASS DOWN
Pacquiao 8th title is a fraud. He did not deserved it so you can't count it.
You only count it to justify Sergio challenge.
If you are a boxing fan, you should know that by now .
A slow plodder like Margarito hurt him.
Even though he manhandily beat Margarito
Pacquiao knows Sergio will be too much to handle.
Pacquiao knows his limits
Unless you think he is superman
please, it took Leonard awhile before he fought hagler and that was because he got beat up in a war with some duide(forgot his name). also Leonard didn't fight hawk time.
I didnt realize you were around with Leonard and Duran and they let you know this. I HATE WHEN PEOPLE PUT WORDS IN ATHLETES MOUTH
"HE WOULDA DONE THIS, HE WOULDVE DONE THAT"
To Quote Immortal Technique - Obnoxious
But you know what the fukc I think is just pathetic and gay
When n!ggas speculate what the fukc 'Pac would say
You don't know sh!t, about a dead mans perspective
And talking sh!t will get your neck bone disconnected
Disrespected n!ggas don't show no love
Why you trying to be hardcore, you fukcing homo-thug
^^ Thats for you OP
Fighters like Duran and Leonard would also be smart enough to not go on record as saying they feel a guy 8 lbs heavier (Bute, Ward) are "too big" for him, then go on the record talking about how they KO a guy 20 lb's lighter, like Pacquiao.
I like Martinez but that made him look like the hypocrite of the year. He went on record as saying he won't fight any of the Super Middle's because he'd be giving up too much, then goes and challenges both Manny AND Floyd. He's a lot bigger than Manny, but he's bigger than Floyd, too. Breadman on ********** said it best, Martinez chose to add that bulk he now doesn't think he can cut to get back down to 154, but now he's stranded at 160 without any $ fights.
But yeah, long story short, if Martinez feels justified in saying Bute & Ward are "too big" for him, than Manny is "too small" for him. It goes both ways.

dont stray from your original opinion, you clearly said pacquiao is a FULL-blown welterweight
i dont see him sweating down to 147 and blowing up to 150+ like 98% of the division
esspecially when i've seen you plenty of times saying he could easily make 140
Ahhh man just give it up. if Boxing Scene has a award show, and they gave the award to the biggest PacTard of all time, you would win hands down, UD.
Your just trying to enable Mannys cherry picking.
That's why they're fighting at welterweight then??Read what U just wrote bro.If Pacman was not a welterweight, why the fvck would the fight be at welterweight then??There's a problem with this scenario all right, but the problem doesn't lie with those that are capable of seeing what's really going on.

nobody but rabid sergiosexuals on internet messageboards r clamoring 4 MARTINEZ VS. ANYBODY.
nobody in real life know who the hell martinez is, which is why he is a complete and total PPV FAILURE.
Boxing fans know how Martinez is, if your a fan of boxing you know alot of fighters and the sport.
Pacquiao fans only know about Pacquiao.
There in lies your problem. Pacquiao isn't a full blown WW. He comes in on fight night at 147/148. No full blown WW comes in at that weight on fight night. That's the weight you'll see from either a LW or JrWW.

So if they had 24 hours they'd be heavier. That is what you are saying. That also means that they where not fully hydrated back then. LMAO.
Take a break from posting. I mean it.
Lol....whatever dude. I don't see why it's so hard to get the point I was trying to make.
If they knew, before the start of training camp, that they could drop down in weight, and have a 24 hour window to come in bigger than they normally would, chances are (giving their frame) that they would come in around the 160 mark.
No they weren't dehydrated when they fought because there is no way they could go 15 rounds against other elite fighters, all while performing at a high level.
How about you answer this; Against Their opponents at 154 and 160 did any of those guys look phyisically bigger than Hearns and Leonard? I wasnt alive to see those bouts, but from watching the videos of those bouts, not one time did I think "d@mn Ray or Tommy are giving up alot of size/weight to their opponents" even when they were fighting at MW. Why? Because there frames were alot bigger than our current crop of WW's.
Again I've stated several times that just my opinion and there really is no way to prove this other than going off of what I see from watching videos.
Marquez struggled with fighters no where near as good as Pacman at 135,lightweight.Fighting a full blown welterweight(Pacman) at welterweight is the same as the 1st welterweight he fought.

Because yesterday didn't offer the money of today!! Simple!!
Yet Floyd and Manny have the opportunity to make career high pay days by fighting each other but they refuse to do so. This just shows that it's not about $ it's about level of risk.
Marquez's own coach said, JMM fighting Floyd at 144 is completely different to fighting PAC at 144.
It's called selling a fight.U know kinda like Mosley did.
First of all May was 146, he came in overweight, and then he rehydrated to a huge size. Rumors were 155-160 pounds. And since Floyd refused to weigh in on fight night, obviously he was VERY heavy, otherwise why would he refuse to be weighed? So we can assume he weighted close to 160 pounds.
Yes he did.I'm not gonna assume, like U are what he weighed. The fight was bull$hit then, like Marquez at welterweight now.
Manny on the other hand as an in ring weight of around 145. And this is what Marquez's coach reiterated, and JMM himself said the size difference that FLoyd had was unfair, and he could never have won because of that.

Yea! Pacroid is a fraud.. he should first go down to 135 and fight the 'challenger' marquez.. and IF he wins that fight.. he needs to go up to 160 and fight Martinez. If not Manny hasn't proved a thing.. he is a fraud.. all his fights are hand picked.. weight drained.. fixed.. corrupt. AND he takes PEDs that make him bullet proof..
:pat:
Question big guy.So who expected Pacman to fight Martinez at 160??Martinez sure didn't.Also U & every other Pacfan,Roach included says Pacman can make 135,he isn't fighting Martinez,Floyd's been criticized for fighting Marquez at welterweight, but it's ok when Pacman strolls along & does the same $hit right??

No. What I'm saying is giving both guys frame, if they had the 24-hour rule they would have probably came in that huge. Again their is no way to officially prove this but just going off the eyeball test and comparing how huge they are in comparison to current WW's its quite possible that they would.
With all of that said, those guys had the frame to move up to 160 and not be physically overmatched by other fighters. Can anyone honestly say both Floyd and Manny can fight at MW and not look like midgets in the ring with those guys?

Surely you are not suggesting that they went into the ring dehydrated?

What are you talking about? Duran fought at his fight night weight, which was 135 lbs. How can you be a massive lightweight when come fight night you walk into the ring at 135lbs? If he was fighting with the weigh ins pushed forward 24 hours dude could of been a Super bantamweight.
Its stupid to ask the reigning wbc jmw champion to defend his belt at jmw?
re-read my post plz,
what did you quote when you said
Come fight night they were around 146-147. Think same day weigh in
we/YOU were talking about leonard and hearns, and yes, they were fukkin massive for ww
now re-read the rest of my post
duran did fukk all past ww and had visibly lost his hunger and was weight affected
i never said duran was massive, get it right next time
