In your opinion, what was the Executioner's best performance?
Poll to come...
I still don't think nothing was bigger than the Trinidad fight...especially with the current state of the country, Nard being an underdog, and Tito being undefeated...
the one that got me the happiest to be honest was against Kelly Pavlik. And reading the story about the kid who Hopkins became friends with, that had cancer? I believe? That made that gave the victory even more meaning to it. The kid kept himself alive just to watch one last Hopkins win, and Hopkins did it The kid went to sleep that night and never woke up again, he died 2-3 days later.
Because of what Hopkins did for that kid, and didn't make public to win the fans over, like let's say Pacquiao does. Becoming that kids best friend, and winning against all odds against the guy who was supposed to finally end Hopkins career and knock him out in to retirement.
I'd say Pavlik just because of that+the age he did it in+Pavlik being undefeated.
Because Hopkins made the popular stare down while almost crying to the press.
"I'm tired of proving myself".
One day, the media will appreciate Hopkins once he's long gone and they will make a movie on him.
Every one of his wins have been mostly discredited by the media, his Trinidad win, Trinidad too small. His Tarver win, Tarver was nothing special. His Pavlik win, Pavlik was a blown up MW. His Pascal win, Pascal is the worst champion ever, Hopkins wouldn't beat Moore or Hagler.
Why not say all of this before the fights? Why say he's gonna get knocked before the fight, then discredit him after he wins?
I agree with all of this Pavlik was his best performance due to what was at stake and the clinic he put on that night ,Also it was a rare occasion to see B-Hop so emotional at the post fight press conference and hear him speak from the heart like that.

his epic battles with robert allen.
legend , bro. legend.
my favorite is tarver, i knew everyone was going to vote tito and that was also great, but tarver was supposed to murk bhop and bhop schooled a versatile counterpuncher in that fight....tito win had more pagentry.
i also loved echols 2.
The Tito fight was so unbelievable that I have yet brought myself to see that fight again.
So I have to go with that fight. Great performance by B-hop and I have a lot of respect for him. He humbled me as a fan that night
Glen Johnson or any of the echols fights..
90 percent of the idiots on this forum have yet to see them. they only know the bernard post jermain taylor but in his prime hopkins went in there to **** you up.. not win a boring decision
Glen Johnson?
I think HOP is getting undeserved credit for that win.
Antonio Margarito deserves 0 credit for stopping Sergio Martinez according to this Forum because they said Martinez was green. Martinez proceeded to win all but 2 ( 1 draw) of his succeeding fights
Now Glen Johnson after the loss to Hopkins lost to Journeymens :(
Martinez had performed better than Johnson but HOP gets credit and Margarito doesnt?
the**** :omfg:
on Topic : Antonio Tarver for me. He was the underdog facing a man his size or maybe bigger and totally dominated him.
reinvented himself
they only know the bernard post jermain taylor but in his prime hopkins went in there to **** you up.. not win a boring decision so true
yet reinventing himself has prolonged his career his legacy and most importantly his bank account....
Trinidad, without question.
A pillar to post ass whipping, dominated the entire thing from start to finish, capped it off with the knockout, and made HBO look like a bunch of dickriding morons.
EXACTLY this^^^^^^^^^^^...I have nothing to add :lol1: :fing02:
People forget that Hopkins coming off back to back losses against Jermain Taylor moved up to face the undisputed #1 light heavyweight in the world. NO ONE gave B-Hop a chance to win and Hopkins dominated every single round
Trinidad, without question.

bingo
most unexpected excellent performance from him to me was either Tarver or Pavlik. he just made them look plain silly.
Pascal was not surprising at all, since Pascal is horribly flawed.
Something about the Pavlik fight was just special.
The amount of disrespect shown to Hopkins leading up to Trinidad and Pavlik was unreal and his response to them both was truly special. But I don't know, something about the Pavlik fight was almost touching in its conclusion.
Hell ya with Pavlik conquering a guy who many even myself argued beat Hopkins 2wice(taylor) no questions was special... Pavlik was on fire KOing everyone and Hopkins completely and utterly dismantled him..
I think a fighters best performance should be the one he was underdog against and 9 out of 10 people were saying he was gonna lose.
So pick your poison:
Trinidad
Tarver
Pavlik
Pascal I
And was he underdog in Pascal II?
Anyway, from those 5 fights, the one that got me the happiest to be honest was against Kelly Pavlik. And reading the story about the kid who Hopkins
became friends with, that had cancer? I believe? That made that gave the

He was 7/5 slightly underdog on Pascal 2.
Hopkins best performance was against Tito. Everyone thought Hopkins was at the tail end of his career. Little did we know he was just getting started.
Yep, I feel the same way. That story was heart wrenching and hard to read. The Pavlik bout was just something else. That fight motivates the hell out of me all the time
I can see how Trinidad will be the popular choice, and that would have been my choice as well if the Pavlik fight didn't have so much behind it.
In reality the quality of opponents goes like this:
Trinidad>Tarver>Pascal>Pavlik.
Mind you I think Pavlik is the worse guy there, yet that was my pick for best Hopkins performance.
