Defamation...
One thing is certain: Hopkins is done fighting with Pascal. At least in the ring. Hopkins says he is moving forward with plans to file a defamation suit against Pascal in Canada for comments Pascal made on the press tour hinting that Hopkins was using performance-enhancing drugs. He says he has hired a "high-profile Canadian lawyer" to help with the lawsuit.
"When you are foolish in life, you have to be held accountable," Hopkins said. "I'm coming after him strong. I didn't talk about before the fight because I didn't want it to look like it was sour grapes. I wanted to get the victory and teach him a lesson about my legacy. But I have never, ever used anything or taken any drug to bring out the best or worst in me to get an edge. I feel that at the end, when somebody says that you cheated, that person hasn't followed my life.
"I never let myself get past 10 pounds overweight. You can say, 'Bernard, he's a loudmouth, he disrespects me,' and that might be true. But to call me a cheat, I have to go after his jugular. ... This is beyond boxing. If you are suggesting there is any doubt that I have done it the shortcut way, that is defamation of character. They were selling shirts out there that said, 'Take the Test.' I bought 10 of them and then we shut the stand down.
"You can't do that. You can't say something that you have no proof of. Don't say I cheated, because of the way I look. I'm serious about this. ... My lawyers have been gathering stuff up, off of YouTube. They have those shirts. I have to send a message. At the end of the day, I was damaged."

Good for you B-Hop! That will teach stupid people from popping off at the mouth with accusations and no proof. You hit their pockets they will learn their lesson quick. What was Pascal reasoning? The old man hung with you for 12 rounds and you couldn't get him out of there due to your lack of skill and stamina. It takes a lot of oxygen to feed those muscles. Plus technically Pascal was beat by a guy who was just technically superior than him......And the other loudmouth accuser of the other fighter is nothing but an former crackhead/ex-con. This is your credible witness. So where is their proof. In my eyes sue them all. They'll learn.
Well, sometimes it's not just about being able to defeat his opponent simply by defeating him in the ring.
Hopkins has also a life outside of boxing. His pride, his honesty and commitment to the sports, his discipline, his reputation are all being questioned...you can't just heal that by avenging the one who has maligned you in the ring.
Why do you think there are such cases as libel, oral defamation, slander? Because to be hurt is not just about inflicting or suffering physical pain but it also has to do with psychological and emotional pain which tells us about honor, dignity and pride of a person.
Ok, but personally Hopkins suing could do more harm than good. I would have rather kept it moving, Pascal took his defeat very well, showed respect, all is good now.
didn't he just blast mcnabb for being a house nigga? all sudden this fool's getting litigious?

frontin' ass carlton banks punk. the real hop would'a challenged pascal to a street fight rematch in philly.
Would have never expected this from B-Hop, he won, got his revenge, he should now move on. Worry about fighting Bute or Dawson.

I'm pretty damn sure some people in this thread who are giving BHop a pass because he already fought Pascal, wouldn't be so generous with Manny. Yep, double standards.

This is HORSE MANURE. B-Hop got his revenge and point across in his win in the rematch. It's immature to go beyond that.
You're right. Anything is possible. To watch a 46yr old man put on such a physical performance and then do pushups in the middle of the fight is something way out of the ordinary. Without proof or more stringent testing, we'll never know though. We might never know even WITH more stringent testing. Look at Lance Armstrong. Most tested athlete in the history of all sports. He was tested over 500 times even during off season and has never failed a test. Either he's really clean despite what his former teamates are claiming, or he has mastered a way to hide ped's within his blood.
Oh man trust me, I got Hopkins in my top 30 best fighters of all time. I just don't like anyone being targeted or pulled out the crowd like Pacquiao is, everyone is ignoring that Hopkins might be on something, but rather people believe that Pac is on something or not, they are atlest giving it some thought.
Hopkins on the other hand looks maybe a little bit more guilty, all Pascal asked was for him to take the test...You know what he told Pac?? "He said if your clean, take the test", something shouldn't have to be in the contract if your clean, if your clean it should NEVER matter.
I use to blast Pac about being on steroids, but now im just gonna stay out of it completely, because Hopkins is getting a pass, so I might as well give Pacquiao a pass.
differance is hopkins fought him 1st.then filed a lawsuit
exactly what difference does that make
other than the fact that PAscal is a true warrior for still fighting even tho BHOP didn't take the test while on the other hand , that homo Mayweather still refused to fight even when PAC accepted to take the OSDT with a 7 days cutoff
And its damn possible, look at his BEST friend, Sugar Shane Oldlsey. Former Steroid P4P king.

I can understand Hopkins anger. Lets say his isnt on anything and at the age of 46 defeated a young strong fighter like Pascal on raw talent and hard work. Now there will be a ? given the dominant performance he put on given his age. It was quite remarkable to witness, but it already has people questioning whether his abilities are natural or enhanced by something.

Yea, but its been rumored that Hopkins has been suspected of using for awhile from what I've been told.
Boy Boy Boy, this is sad, im guessing that after Hopkins beat Pascal, people were saying the only reaosn you won, is because your on steroids.
Which is true, as much as I think Hopkins is a legend, we all know Hopkins is on steroids. He was the one that told Pacquiao "if your clean, take the test" and now he does the same thing??? Hypocrite.
If people actually let Benard get away with not taking the blood test, and then turn around and call Pac a cheater for the same thing, then for here own out im a Pac fan.
This **** is crazy.
Yep, its was obvious as to what he saying.
Man, its obvious what he was saying. Either way, I don't care for these fighters filing lawsuits on each other when they fight for a living.
