Idk what's going on in this thread but bernard is the best fighter of the last 20 yes. I'm ready for anyone to discuss??????,?? Bring it fools bhop = top 25 atg RIGHT NOw. He's the highest ranked currently active boxer no doubt.
Second thread on Floyd Mayweather Jr tonight, indirectly involving him in the Light Heavyweight division, when this guy is a welterweight.
Laughable to say the least.
Can't talk about any boxing related topic, without bringing this man up. I mean Bernard Hopkins made history tonight, and all you morons can bring up is Floyd Mayweather. You are just praising Floyd. That something this big happens in boxing, that Floyd had nothing to do with, and you STILL have to bring him up. It's a must to bring up Floyd in any BOXING conversation, or else it won't feel like a boxing conversation, from what I see.
To be honest I agree with this post 100%.
The fact that many posters bring up Floyd and Manny each and every time is an indirect way of saying you acknowledge how great they are. Also the fact that Bhop has done the same things and even worse than Floyd and Manny, yet gets a pass let's me know that both are held to a higher standard which can only mean people admit both are better.
Hopkins beating Bute, Dawson, SuperSix winner (Ward duuhh) would unquestionably leave him number 1 lb4lb at what 48 years of age? That to me is simply mind boggling and words couldnt do justice to how great an accomplishment that would be.
All while Pac and Floyd continue to duck each other, Bhop is fighting dudes half his age and beating them up. Sick life sir
Roy prime for prime was better then Hopkins.
I think Hopkins belongs above both RJJ and May on the all time list though.
Hopkins' style served him well and enabled him to stay longer. In contrast, RRJ's style requires a lot of energy and stamina. Speed fighters who rely on speed may be better in their primes, but they're also better off retiring early.
How is an over-the-hill fighter who has never been known as a knockout puncher still able to compete against some of the best talent in the world today?
The answer is simple. Nobody in today’s fight game, including Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, can match Hopkins' mental skills. He has been boxing professionally for over 20 years and during that time he has mastered his craft in the ring.
When he steps through the ropes, B-Hop rarely makes a mistake. He knows exactly what his weaknesses are and he does an exceptional job of disguising them. Likewise he knows his strengths and he has a knack for tricking his opponent into thinking otherwise.
If I had to guess, I would say we will never see another fighter like Bernard Hopkins

BHOP is the best.................black anerican fighter............thats for sure.......
comparing hopkins to gayweather is like comparing a lion to a kitten
Dont get me wrong, mayweather is gifted and an amazing boxer, but his place in history does not compare to what hopkins has achieved. real talk.
hopkins brainfukks duckweather.... gayweather can't hold a candle to hopkins.

Mayweather. Live a clean life and your career (inside and outside of boxing) shall propel you to the next level.
Look at BHop and Foreman.
hopkins is probably the last great fighter we have.
these cherrypicking ******s like floyd and manny could never fill b-hops shoes. I don't even care that hes racist, i admire his skills so much it dont matter.
Roy prime for prime was better then Hopkins.

Bernard's career after 40 was more impressive than Roy's under 30. Would have loved to have seen them fight in 2000-2001.
How did i knew this was coming? Can't we just congratulate without ****ting on someone else to do so?
No double standards please. Manny's getting sh*tted on another thread as well.
Factoring in his age. Hes remarkable. And it will be decades before we see something like this. Floyd and Pac are playing catch up imo.
Lets start at 2005 while Hops is past it:
Hes fought Taylor twice, Tarver, Winky, Pavlik, Calzaghe and Pascal twice.
And thats just since 05 while hes old and past it. Floyd and anyone other fighter from this era has big time catching up to do.
Not even including Tito, Joppy, Johnson, etc.
Some guys are different than other Hopkins has aged like a fine wine, he proved that a long time ago though. This doesn't change that.
Hopkins has been inconsistent if you are just talking the recent era, even if you say he hasn't been beaten decisively which is true he could have done more to win all those fights he didn't win. You have to mark that against him.
Hopkins is a great fighter view him however you desire, but I just don't see how this win is a game changer.
Obviously.
NO FIGHTER from this era compares to Hopkins. Not Floyd, not Pac, not Roy.
Hops is in a class all by himself.
dam B....I can't hit you up for this one....you know whats up :fing02:
We have an old man making history tonight and here this forum is talking about Floyd freaking Mayweather! Terrible.
MEMO to Floyd,
Come fight like BHOP. Make it happen.
