The boy carried his whole country on his back in the olympics and brought home the gold medal, even after that he was booed in his first fight because the public wasn't "entertained" enough, he went and fought Paul Smith and again he was cast as the "villain" just because he talks up his skills and hypes up the fight, now we come to todays clash with George Groves and the way that fecking crowd were acting you would have thought Degale was foreign!! ,
Then to round off the night those dumb judges try to derail the kid's career by handing Groves an absolute gift he didn't deserve!!, but that's "britain" for you, you aren't getting a decision unless you're a (white) brawler who the fans love it seems, we saw the same thing happen to Dirrell against Froch but i didn't think they'd do it to a top British prospect,
After this shambles i think Degale should head for America where he'll be able to hone his skills with a better trainer and fight infront of audiences who will appreciate his skills more, instead of fighting infront of people who are praying for him to lose and judges who are easily influenced by them,
In closing this will be a sickener for James, and he'll probably be questioning himself and his future, but i hope he takes my advice and leaves britain behind and starts fresh, he clearly wasn't at his best tonight and has a few things to learn but he can still prove people wrong by fulfilling his potential, then in the future maybe he can get a rematch with Groves!!..preferably OUTSIDE of britain.
He was only treated that way because of the way he's been acting since he won the gold.
Personally I think a loss at this stage in his career might actually do him some good. Get that massive ego checked early on, then knuckle down and become the star he has the potential to become.
Khan is liked in the UK as is David Haye, neither are white brawlers. Degale shot himself in the foot when his criticism was centered around Groves' looks. Trash talking is fine but repetitively commenting on another man's looks is not the best method of trash talk when competing in what can be perceived as a sport followed by the working class man. The UK generally like to see the underdog win which is why Eubank and Naseem always found themselves being rooted against by domestic fans, although fans respected their skill. Carl Froch, as you pointed out, also likes to talk trash the only difference being that he is competing at the highest level however still conducts himself with more humility than Degale, Froch is only now about to have his fights televised on Sky Sports where as Degale has already found himself on box office. Danny Williams, Lennox Lewis, Frank Bruno, even Chisora gets some love. Regarding the fight itself Degale was getting beaten at his own game so had to revert to pushing his elbow into Groves' face, which I'm sure didn't go unnoticed by the judges, as well as the clash of heads which prompted blood to run into Groves' eye. The fight was in no way a robbery and could have went either way, but boxing is a sport about conducting yourself with respect, both for your opponent as well as yourself, it's a fundamental thing that Degale will need to brush up on if he wants to be respected by boxing fans, both casuals and the hardcore.
Same goes for Carl Froch; he's a world champion and one of the best boxers to come out of Britain, but they hate him because he's black.
...because the only reason a fighter can be disliked is because they're black, right? It has nothing to do with the fact that they're arrogant cunts.
Moron.
Erm does Froch get booed in his own country you fecking idiot? NO!!.. so shut your mouth and engage your brain before you type next time!! .

You are taking this too far.I've been on twitter and this is not the general trend but isolated incidences. In every population you will find some extremely retarded people which is the case in your twits
Well obviously i'm also on twitter and i don't see many "positive" comments aimed at Degale at all!.. so i guess we'll have to disagree.
Groves landed more early, was more accurate and controlled the pace and distance of the fight at that stage. Easy rounds to score for Groves.
For a Groves fan? of course it was, but any level headed individual would know that it was pretty much three apiece after the 6th round, after that Degale started to take control from the ninth round onwards!!,
I'm waiting for you to make just one legitimate argument in favour of Degale getting robbed.

Erm but i thought you said there was "nothing to see here"? and furthermore i already made a "legitmate argument".. GROVES GOT A HOME DECISION, simples.
This is the kind of crap that's being said on twitter right now...
Even after Chunky lost they are still abusing the kid!!.. , like i said it's the SAME OLD BRITAIN and he should leave it behind and start fresh somewhere else, he will never be appreciated there whether he becomes a champion or not, that pr/ck who spoke about Groves "doing England proud" just sums up what i've been saying, some of them don't even class Degale as a brit.

Groves never took most of the early rounds though as he was as inactive as James was!!.. pretty much running around the ring trying to copy Dirrell!!, and looking at both fighters faces after the fight it's pretty clear who done the most damage!!..Groves landed more early, was more accurate and controlled the pace and distance of the fight at that stage. Easy rounds to score for Groves.
p.s. if there's "nothing to see here" then you're more than welcome to p/ss off!! .I'm waiting for you to make just one legitimate argument in favour of Degale getting robbed.

Totally agree!!..but whats disturbing is Froch often trash talks but doesn't get booed at all!!..Degale does it and the whole nation is against him? something doesn't add up!!.
if Chis Eubank was not a cocky bastard then those fights between him and Ben would not have been so exciting. Eubank was hated for having confidence and talking his skills up , it was him who made everyone want to watch those fights
The fact is we need more boxers like Eubank and Naz, all this lets be humble crap is british bull****
we are a nation of losers at every damn sport
the problem with british fans is they support humble losers
soon as a fighter shows some self belief and talks his skills up they begin to hate him
what british people dont understand when both fighters are modest/ friendly you get a boring fight i.e pac vs mosely
i luv when to boxers go in the ring and its personal
hatton was a prat playing his phony humble act

Fights are scored round by round, not based on who rocked who more times. Degale lost most of the early rounds. He probably won most of the late rounds. It was a very close fight, not a robbery. Nothing to see here.

@StGeorgeGroves u f#cking legend u did england proud f#ck degale sellout c#nt.
Quality night!! Great fight! f#ck u degale.
Landed for @StGeorgeGroves about time somebody shut DeGale up :D good times !
I heard it was so close to call but Groves just edged it. Served Degale right for being such a cocky twat
@StGeorgeGroves great job. Loved seeing DeGale lose, epic
Just watched the groves v degale fight back on sky plus and f#cking ace that groves beat that big headed prick!
@StGeorgeGroves well done shutting that idiot DeGale's mouth up and more importantly congrats on winning the tittle

Actually, they're not. They all talk more boxing and display more knowledge of it than you.
I don't care if they can split the atom, they're cunts. If they're your idea of a gripping conversation about pugilism, then thanks, but I'd sooner talk philosophy with James Toney or do tongue twisters with Freddie Roach.
No Degale was the one who rocked Groves more than once in this fight, almost ko'd him in the latter rounds too!!..but as always the "home favorite" got the decision!!..if Groves had won the gold medal and boxed like Degale did tonight there's no doubt in my mind he would have got the decision!!..that's just the way it goes in England!! .Fights are scored round by round, not based on who rocked who more times. Degale was the brawler in this fight if anything. Groves boxed off the back foot for almost the entire fight and Degale, who looked confused and short on ideas, took half the fight to show any worthwhile adjustment. That's not racism, it's simply understanding how to read a fight.

Amusingly enough, some of the biggest Mayweather fans here are also some of the most open to discussing young British fighters on the up (No Ceilings, _Hisoka, Kevin Jesus).
But those guys are all cunts too!
I talk real boxing with members I like. The rest, I'll continue to stereotype and joke. If it means I get to enagage in meaningful conversations with people like you then it's worth while, right?
Well the English are certainly more racist than Americans, no doubt about it. But Lennox Lewis and Haye did become popular, so it's not like Black athletes are hated or anything like that.
But look at how Khan is treated. If we want to talk racism, Khan is the absolute perfect example. If he did the exact same things and was white, people would worship him. But the dude has 10 million the bank already, and while there are a lot of racists out there and in these forums he does have LOTS of fans as well, so its hard to feel sorry for him.
Khan lost fans long back.He used to run his mouth about how he was the best before he even faced anyone. He then started talking about Hatton and Mayweather at a time he was fighting bums.He was protected and when he finally got knocked out people rejoiced. He still has not leant his lessons and and people just can not stand him.
There wasn't even a point between them because it was quite clear Chunky should have won it by at least three rounds!!..but as always the white brawler always gets the decision in England!!Degale was the brawler in this fight if anything. The British media is quite brutal. Khan was very well liked during his Olympic run and early pro career from what I remember, but that's kind of gone sour. Over exposure made people a little more judgemental of his career.
I suppose there are quite a lot in the UK with an anti muslim and Pakastani viewpoint, which is sad but every country has its bigots.
